Washte try not to worry too much about it. That was my situation last week and I lost a bit over 3 pounds. This week, my visitor has left, I was a very good girl - only 0.8 pounds down. I don’t get it at all.
Thanks skittles. It looks like I’ve put on a bit, but hope the damage isn’t too great. I’d have to give back my first purdy silver 7 sticker…
Damn those scales!
Perhaps if I don’t eat anything tomorrow but drink loads of water??? Flush the system kind of thing.
Very well done GotN! I hope to hear you’ve made it this time next week
I have a question.
Does WW have someone you can talk to to give you advice on challenging situations or do you just talk to other WW’s?
Or is it up to you to learn from each experience?
If so are they trained cousellors or trainers?
I have alot of experience in the weight loss field but have never been to WW’s.
I know Jenny Craig inside and out, but am always eager to learn about other reputable methods.
What do you like about WW’s and what do you hate?
Okay, I guess I had more than one question…
I have had a stomach virus for three days now, and it’s still making me really ill. This is not the way I’d envisioned losing 5 lbs.
Washte, don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll turn it around next week and lose.
My own weigh in is tomorrow night and I’m not even sure if I’ll be up for going. I have missed work for two days, because I don’t want to spread this virus to the students (on the advice of my GP), so I’ll have to feel a lot better before tomorrow if I’m going to go in and get weighed.
superstar, WW meetings are led by people who have lost weight to their goal and kept it off for a certain length of time. They are called ‘leaders’. I don’t think they are trained counsellors, just people who have been there. I would imagine that WW gives them some type of training.
What I did not like about the meetings is the way that people would go on and on about how they just can’t resist this or that, and they eat over their points, then the crying and gnashing of teeth when their bodies aren’t shrinking. I’m much more realistic, and therefore I stopped going to the meetings. I know that there is a cause and effect for everything and if I screw up, I’m accountable for it. One thing that I really did enjoy was going, sharing your results with everyone else who is also trying, and getting the great tips for food. For instance, learning about the Silhouettes ice cream sandwiches was a major score, these things are huge and only 2 points apiece.
Lots of nice people there, unfortunately I don’t need to pay someone to weigh me while I listen to people who sabotage themselves.
As of this morning, I’ve hit my 10%.
:throws confetti up in the air:
That is terrific GingerOfTheNorth!!! Don’t you love your keychain!!!
I can’t wait until I get there as well - I’m about 1/2 way there now. Don’t you just feel great?
I don’t go to meetings, and therefore do not have a keychain. I stopped going after four weeks.
Now see - if I was paying better attention I would have realized that. I’m sorry and hope you don’t think I was being inconsiderate.
(Actually, if you’d like one - I can try to get one for you.)
No, I don’t think you’re being inconsiderate at all. I’d love one if you could get me one.
I’ll do my best and let you know what I can come up with. Everyone who meets some type of goal should have something to show as a reward!
Whee!
Okay, here’s a really low points recipe that I’ve been making. I guess you’ll have to figure out the points on your own, because my measurement skills are nonexistent. I’m a ‘dump some in’ person.
Chicken breast, chopped into bite-sized pieces, marinated in Fat-Free Italian dressing
Chopped cabbage, mushrooms, onions, carrots, broccoli, etc
Fry the chicken - you don’t need Pam or oil because of the dressing. Add the veggies, stir fry them, and voila! Add a bit more Italian dressing, toss it up, and serve. I think I figured out 4 points for a serving the size of my plate, which I couldn’t nearly finish.
I got a spam for a “Weight Watchers 5 Ingredient, 15 Minute Cookbook”. Does anybody have it and if so, do you recommend it?
Wee!
I lost 4 lbs this week, bring the grand total up to 25.5 lbs! Whoopee!!!
Now, here’s the thing. I do not own a full length mirror, so I can’t see any difference. Yes, my clothes fit (I’m 2 sizes down, roughly) and whatever, but I still LOOK overweight.
If you use fitday.com, I’ve moved from ‘severly overweight’ to ‘moderately overweight.’ Ok, so that’s not great great news, but still.
My short term goal is to get down to the next lower size by June 28th (my daughter’s 3rd birthday party) and my long term goal is to be at my goal (about 25 or 30 more pounds) by then end of September.
Hope you are all on the losing track as well!
We don’t get any key chains, just silver 7’s. I got my 10% last week and didn’t even get acknowledged. At the meetings I go to, they don’t do the clapping thing where people say how much they’ve lost. Maybe I should suggest it?
Anahita I don’t think it would hurt to suggest it at your meetings. I mean, everyone wants to be proud of their weight loss…or at least they should be proud of it. And if you can cheer for others and they can cheer for you - I think it would be a great suggestion.
I wonder if it’s just my leader or an Irish/UK rule or something.
People are much more private about their weight here, I have observed.
I’d still like a clap, though.
Well Anahita if your group is not willing to clap at your meetings you can always come here for support and praise!
This is the first time i’v posted anything so bear with me!I joined ww two weeks ago because I was getting seriously sick of bulging out of all my clothes. this is the second time I’ve joined and the last time I did ww,which was up to the beginning of last summer, I lost 28lbs. I was a totally different person and am disgusted with myself for putting the majority of that weight back on,mostly because I went back to college and started eatin the totally wrong things.
I think ww is absolutely brilliant. I have zero willpower but for some reason I took to the programme soooo easily, and the more weight I lost and the more noticeable it became the better i felt about myself and the more confident I became. I know I can lose all the weight again and more, God knows I dont’t wanna look like a beached whale on my holidays in August.
I always find drinking the water helps a lot and always use up all my points. evenings are the worst time for me I find but if I have a lot of points left, i tend to treat myself with crisps and choclate and icecream, stuff that I really love and I can use up my points and treat myself at the same time, so I cant lose:D
I have 3 stones to lose but my leader has told me to take it 7 lbs at a time, and for anyone doind the online programme I really would recommend going to the odd class as it helps me like you wouldnt believe and the friends that you make and tips you pick up at the classes are invaluable. i joined 2 weeks ago and have lost 4.5 lbs so far,so I’m pleased. Best of luck to all of you!!!
Well done Anahita!
Welcome to the SDMB Nichola. Wishing you the best in WW and all that you do.
Well, I forced myself to go to weigh in on Tuesday. Gained a few pounds back…
Have started afresh this week and hope it’s better than last.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
