I just updated my anti-virus software to Trend Micro PC-Cillin 2006.
Now every time I run an anti-spyware program, like Ad-Aware or Microsoft Defender, it starts throwing up a message box saying:
Incident name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\winenc32.dll
Detection name: ADW_HOTSRCHBAR.B
Clicking on that link takes me to Trend Micro’s virus encyclopedia, which returns no info on that name. Putting that name in Google returns no hits at all.
And just trying to click on winenc32.dll to see what it contains brings up the same message box, which means I can’t even delete it.
Not sure, but I’ve been using PC-cillin for a couple of years, and think it is pretty good. As I have three other spyware programs (CounterSpy, AdAware & SpyBot), I went into PC-cillin and turned off their spyware, which I think might solve your problem. Try it for a while and see what happens, you can always turn it back on again.
This is probably what it is referring to (note that I don’t know anything about Spyware Nuker - I just googled your file and found a site that explicitly mentioned it in the description).
