I’ve been thinking about it and thinking about it, and I think I’m in! My very first Dopefest! 
I have to be up (and in VA) early Sunday morning, so a Saturday afternoon thing works well for me.
I’ll be honest: I’m a little intimidated by the idea of going to someone’s home – and meeting so many Dopers – when I haven’t been at the SDMB for very long. But I’m a social type, and I think I’ll be sticking around here for a while, so I may as well jump in! I’ll be the new chick nursing a Sam Adams: just wave and give me encouraging smiles every now and then, and I’ll be fine. 
(Can’t I make everyone wear nice big nametags? Pretty please??)

I’ll volunteer to drive the Va bozos in my bus. I live in Springfield now and can pick up folks who don’t have wheels at the Springfield Metro station.

I have a good excuse though - I will be in a hot tub in New Orleans, drinking hurricanes and deciding what kind of “shirt” to have airbrushed on.

Thanks, but I’m just not sure yet. Saturdays are usually very busy for me. The kids have so many activities on the weekends. Plus I work super hard during the week so I don’t have to work on weekends. I try to spend as much time as I can with my boys on Saturdays and Sundays since Mom’s essentially MIA during the week.
I’ve never been to a 'Fest, though. I’ll give the invite some serious consideration. By when do you need to know if I’m coming or not?
:eek: Well, I must have been on crack when I did that… I should have known that that’s the day of the Hänsel & Gretel performances in Howard County. And unfortunately, it’s not like I can go to the party early and then leave; there are two shows that day, at 2:30 and 7:30. :smack: Sorry, all.

Let me know what you want me to bring. I make a killer applesauce cake topped off with homemade caramel icing. It’s wonderful. I can bring that and whatever else you’d like me to bring.

Request granted. The recipe I use is for a single-layer cake. It’s moist and a bit dense, so it should suffice. The caramel is a brown-sugar caramel. It’s goood.
Damn, I’d been thinking “do I really want to drive to Baltimore for this,” but the cake is calling to me.

Also, I’ll need to figure out what I’m doing about getting to Dundalk since tdc works Saturdays; if anyone’s heading to Ginger’s from Charles Village or has advice about catchin’ a bus to that area, send an e-mail my way.

You know, you, I mean moi, it would help if we knew what neighborhood you lived in. Personally, I am planning to see if I can get clear schedual that weekend, and see if a friend can give me a lift, but I know busses do go down there,
Damnit, I thought I could be there, but it looks like I’ll be tooling around the southwest that weekend. Iris and I haven’t been out there before and we’ve already got our travel tickets.
Yeah - when’s the point of now return? Is a week before cutting it too close?
