I’d say that the main problem was the 1337 5Þ33|< itself, that sort of crap is not welcome here. If this “haxxor” wasn’t a troll or a sock, that person will probably be invited to select a new name.

I get this really really really really weird feeling that I have seen poster 20000 before and it was another name. In fact, I looked it up under the user profiles (using the url as the guide) and remember it being something else. Either somehow enough accounts were deleted that it dropped down below 20k, or someone hacked the name. Or something completely legit. Conspiracy theories?
btw, a 4 looks like A. That’s where it comes from.
Well…there WAS a 20,000[sup]th[/sup] member, but they joined AFTER Dec 7, so they were lost and a NEW 20,000[su]th[/sup] member was made…and it was this troll or sock.

It was obvious to me when I saw the username that he’d never be allowed to post. I guess with all the hustle and bustle of the new board and stuff, our lovely and capable administrative staff were a little slower on the draw than we’re used to, and he managed to get one in edgewise.
His post wasn’t bannable, but no one with that kind of username can expect to remain a member in good standing. Especially considering what we’ve just been through, whether he knew about it or not. I’d say Jeff Olsen has it right.
Purd Wurfect, I agree with you, this is a meager item to pit someone for. I don’t think I was ‘pit’-ing the person as much as I was the concept… the idea of the l337 H4x0r joining the SDMB seemed pretty silly. On the other hand, maybe abel is right and I’m just bitter. At any rate, my ‘attack’ was pretty mild. Anyone who had chosen that name ironically should be fully capable of coming to this thread and joining in the fun.
Anyway, had he come in here with any introduction more endearing than “fuck you and your motherfucking families,” I’d have been the first to introduce myself, gently explain that his username was inappropriate and that he should politely and expeditiously request TubaDiva that it be changed, and welcome him to the boards.
Sadly, he didn’t turn out to be that mature. Shock.
Maybe it makes me immature to post this thread without ever giving him a chance at getting an unprejudiced opinion from anyone on the boards. But he was getting banned anyway, so what the hell.
I mean, the kid can’t even do the l337 speak right.
