One misunderstood reply, one Pit thread, and an IRL association with one of our best new members…you’re on your way to greatness, Madame.
I, ChrisCTP, current leader in the “Most Patient with Newbies” category in the Sort Of Annual SDMB Awards, formally welcome you to the party. Hope you have as much fun here as I do.
“…being normal is not necessarily a virtue. It rather denotes a lack of courage.”
On Ms.Crick’s behalf, and my own, I thank ye kindly for your sentiments Chris.
Unfortunately though, it’s just me and a pair of gently snoring little germ sponges here tonight. Ms. Crick should be around late tomorrow afternoon (we have a date to try out Nate’s Gumbo recipe, for which I’ve forgotten to thank him), and I’m sure she’ll be delighted by yer welcome.
Dr. Watson
“Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of a joy you must have someone to divide it with.” – Mark Twain
So much for slipping in quietly and hiding in a corner . . .
I don’t know what to say, except thank you all very much and I’m sorry for causing such a commotion.
Of course if Watson had kept his big mouth shut I might have been able to just blend into the background noise. Every time I try to get away with being my own sweet introverted self the man finds a way to point every spotlight in the room at me, and you can all be assured that he’ll pay for this. Which means that there will be plenty of dirt the next time he isn’t looking over my shoulder. (wink.)
A special, “I’m sorry,” to Coldfire – I guess I was just feeling a little apprehensive about joining this parade, and I didn’t read carefully, then overreacted. Thank you for being understanding. Also, you should know that he really does remember all these silly quotes, and can annoy you to death by spouting something hysterically apropos just when you’re trying to be mad at him. I think I’ve laughed more in the past year than I had in my whole life up until now.
Well, Watson’s kids are asleep and I just heard the dishwasher go on, so I think it is time to move on to a different distraction . . .
Thank you again for the welcome, you’ve all made my day.
Ms. Crick
