Well, after that thread about uncomfortable moments....

…I watched “The Human Centipede.”

JFC I need to take a shower.

Well, do not watch the sequel without a bucket of Dettol and a wire brush handy, then.

Ain’t that the truth? The first seems rather quaint after watching the second. Oof - shoulda gotten battle pay for that.

I just read the Wikipedia plot summaries and I need a shower.

There’s a sequel?

And it’s worse?

Got a link to the thread about uncomfortable moments? NOT a link to the human centipede!!!

Bleakest Movie You’ve Ever Seen

I guess my thread title wasn’t entirely accurate. Sorry for that. On page 3 of “Bleakest” thread you’ll see my inquiry about The Human Centipede.

I need to do something about this sickening curiosity I have…

‘Bleakest Movie’ - maybe not the bleakest, but it definitely ranks up there. And the funny thing is, it really wasn’t that scary or gross. The concept was pretty icky, but you didn’t actually see that much.

What got me, though, was how freakin dark it was. Nothing is ever accomplished, nothing gets better, the girls are dumb as a box of fucking rocks, I have no idea why the Asian guy chose to slit his throat of all things, and the ending is just terrible.

Yes, and it’s worse on almost every level.

It’s more disgusting.
It’s got less of a story.
There is no character development.
It’s even LESS realistic.

I haven’t seen it, but it’s funny to me that some poor actor got her big break and she has to…

How did they film the centipede, anyway? Prosthetic buttocks?

From what I read, that’s the only way they managed to retain a cast for those roles in the film - hire people who were so desperate for a “break” that they’d agree to be locked into a contract without seeing the script or knowing the most relevant details.

Totally agree. It wasn’t really all that graphic, but the thought of something like that happening is what was so depressing.

I didn’t get the ending either. I guess ultimately the “B” girl will die a slow, horrible death because she can’t move and there’s no one left to save her…until the police arrive to find the missing cops?

I think the most disturbing scene (for me) was when the Dr woke up his “creation,” showed them in the mirror, then turned the mirror on himself and kissed his reflection. He was so proud he started crying.

UGH.

Can we get some spoiler alerts here? My wife and I were planning to watch this on our anniversary.

I can’t believe you watched that movie Just For Chuckles.

I can’t find a link at the moment, but watch Daniel Tosh’s full Spoiler Alert review - hysterical.

That’s hot.

I watched it just for chuckles because I didn’t think it was possible for me to be that disturbed by that kind of movie. I was wrong. It actually managed to make me feel unclean and no other horror movie has ever achieved that.

Whats the sequel called? It was quite bleak. To say the least. But I’m still kinda intrigued…

Human centipede 2 and 3

I think that’s also how a couple of the actors were credited.
