Father of a three year old, in a country which doesn’t have the death penalty. Yes, there is: the lead tablet. As far as I’m concerned anyone who molests a child has forfeited the right to be a part of human society - locking them up until they die and hoping that prison justice takes its course is too expensive and benefits no-one {and let’s not talk about the possibility of rehabilitation: people who can do this aren’t “sick” - I hate that euphemism - they’re evil}, so put a bullet in the back of their heads and bury them.

I certainly understand WANTING to kill them, but major policies shouldn’t be based on high emotions. Hence I am still against the death penalty, even with assholes like this who are begging for it.
According to this story this morning, he may have actually lived with Jessica’s half-sister sometimes. The sister lived right next door. Damn.
Stories like this make it very difficult for me to maintain my anti-death penalty stance. May he rot in prison forever. Bread and water, hard labor, and severe beatings on a regular basis.
I interpret the story as saying that it was Couey’s half-sister, not Jessica’s.
I’m glad the authorities are charging those who helped this monster evade the laws that were designed to protect us from him.

He was a convicted child molester, he violated his parole, he fled the state, then, after failing a lie detector test, he confessed. You make it sound like he was just trying to do the right thing. No, he was busted. And yet, he has not told were the body is. Why? To plea bargain. I will tell you were I dumped that poor childs body, after her terror and pain, only if you agree not to seek the death penalty. I’ll give back the tiny body I destroyed if you won’t hurt me.
No one has suggested that everyone who has had an allegation against him should be handled in this way. There are many cases of false allegation and everyone knows that. This is not the case here. And the “lock 'em up” thing just adds to the problem. He is a fairly young guy, despite his apperance. We are talking DECADES on food, clothing, shelter, full medical and dental for this piece of shit. That is if he doesn’t “find Jesus” while inside and some limp-dick Parole Board doesn’t set him out to harm again. Why? Because his life is precious? He has rights? He is caring and sensitve human being? Hell No. He is an animal. He is trash. He is a drain on society, he has no merits and has given up his rights with a crime against this poor little girl. I’m with Case Sensitive, a little lead taken internally is the only approach that would even resemble justice. Too quick a death some say. It wouldn’t have to be quick… just effective

Believe me, events like this do make me almost want to bring back the death penalty, but I would like to be murdered by the state no more than I would like to be murdered by a kidnapper.
It also makes me sad that there are a handful of people on parole boards who do let people like this go, and sad that a large majority of people who don’t mind if innocent people are murdered to stop the first kind of people.

I totally agree. I’m staunchly anti DP but only because the legal system isn’t waterproof, innocents do become fodder for old sparky and any society which is willing to overlook this in pursuit of some utilitarian idea of a greater good is displaying the same callous disregard for human life exhibited by those we are supposed to be punishing.
But yeah, if our legal system were perfected to the point where no innocent was ever executed then I’d change my stance in a heartbeat. Our humanity is tarnished when subhuman filth like this get to live a full life.
Same here. If there was a way to be absolutely 100% correct on every death penalty case then I’d have no problem with the DP. Hell, I’d have no problem killing this sick fuck myself.
Unfortunately, I do not have that kind of confidence in our legal system and, frankly, even 99.9% accurate is not accurate enough to send someone to their death.
Those are good odds though!
