What are you complaining about? Don’t you have a visa?
Mastercard.
hmm. I wonder if I can transfer to Oxford…
quietgirl just called me crying her eyes out.
Damnnation, I am so not looking forward to gay rights in the next four years.
What gay rights?
This really does suck. Although, I suppose we can reassure ourselves at least a little with the fact that the closeness of the race demonstrates there are some intelligent people left out there. Too bad there weren’t more of them.
Kiss off the last three decades of advances for women’s rights.
::hurls in wastebasket::
Kiss off the strong economy.
– Zilch.
Kiss off the forests – and clean air.
Commiserations. I was so hopeful for the USA. At least our dollar might recover a bit now (Australia).
I don’t want school prayer. I want equal rights. I don’t think gun control is a bad thing. I want to have a leader that thinks I have a right to exist.
Damn it. Damn it all.
I’m still in denial. Please let there be several million as-yet-unaccounted for absentee ballots that mysteriously show up, all with Gore votes…
i put a sign on my door expressing my extreme dissappointment over the election. I was in the hall. walked 20 ft away for two minutes. came back, my sign is defaced with “quoted by a fucking idiot!! you suck”
::heavy sigh::
don’t ya just loooooove republican college students…
::sigh::
so i put up another sign with the original that says "yuoung conservative, was it really necessary to use profanity, or is your vocabulary so terribly limited?
"
the only problem with free speech is that ignorant have to right to spread intolerant words…
::sigh::
I am not a religious man, in fact I am a big alien aficiando(is that what we call ourselves?) but evan so…this Bush win makes me wonder if it the beginning of the end of our civilization. These huge Bush supporters are so into him that they are willing to kick your ass to prove there point. We are talking about serious de-volution here. I can hardly believe there are so many Bush supporting college kids. I know they are just parroting what they overheard from their parents and that makes it evan sadder. They have no idea what we are in for with this man as president. I went out to grab a burger with some friends tonight and the bartender at the restaurant was agressively arguing with us abut how great Bush was. It was absurd, I wanted to just get up and leave.
I know I am not the only one who feels this way…in fact I have heard about 7-8 people say that they would move out of the country if he was elected…Well we better start packing…
What a nightmare. This will create a large and growing rift in our otherwise turbulent society.
According to this page at MSNBC, out of over 5.75 million votes cast in Florida, and one percent still to be reported, Bush leads at this exact moment by…9,000.
Recount, anyone?
Operation get tater a work permit so that she can stay in Europe for the next four or more years is officially in high gear. I don’t care if I have to scrub toilets in the train station, I’m not going back.
Sigh. Guess the next few weeks are going to be fun, fun, fun as I try and explain to my European friends how we could have let this happen.
Please check this thread.
Florida may not be lost yet!
but I think you are not giving the republic enough credit to see stupid ideas when they come down the pike. Yeah, so the Republicans control government right now, but there will be elections in two years. 33 seats in the Senate and all House seats. If the government crashes and burns in that time (still unlikely) a lot of them would have some explaining to do. Remember Bill Clinton had a democratic congress in 1993 and four and failed with his universal health care plan.
[sub]I want to post this is a similar thread in IMHO, but Slythe was too quick with the lock button again![/sub]
It’s been pretty damn confusing to say the least. Each time I woke up in the night, the radio would tell me that florida had swung one way then the other. The latest I heard was that the ‘winning margin’ stands at less than 2000. Apparently the state has until noon tomorrow to count all the absentee ballots…mostly military and therefore republican? Or is that too simplistic?
46835472 for bush
465… for gore [the tv graphic changed before i could get all the numbers]
there’s around a 35000 vote difference ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!
that’s freaking close!!!
er… goofed on the numbers…
they should read:
46835472 to
4680… missed a decimal place… the diff is STILL around 35000
