So what year(s) would Frampton Comes When Called have held that spot? Seemed like that album was everywhere.
Probably something like 1976-1980 or so. I started college (and lived in the dorms) in 1983, and it wasn’t something that got played, at least not at my school.
Steven Tyler is kind of a jag.
- Rush
- Yes
- Post-Gabriel Genesis
- Any form of so-called hip-hop that includes melodic elements, rather than rapping.
- The Beatles. (Yes, I know their work and appreciate it, and still will always listen to a few songs with admiration, but I’m done with their catalog for thirty years, and have no reason to hear any more of it).
- The Doors
- Counting Crows
- Anything Ozzy Osbourne put his greasy hands on
- The Eagles
- Neil Young…anything.
- Abba
- The Bee Gees
- Kenny G
As a musician for over 40+ years now , there’s many bands listed here that I love and some others that I prefer not to listen to, at least anymore since many are so overplayed ad nasuem. But… I can almost always appreciate their songwriting, musical talent, inspiration, style, etc… even if it’s not my cup of tea. Hell, I could sit through a Creed or Nickelback concert and probably enjoy it… but Coldplay? I just don’t get. It’s the worst pop-pablum, uninspired musical drivel, I have ever heard!
