I’ve given Trump some stick before, but I’ve got to give credit where it’s due: he labelled the Manchester bomber ‘an evil loser’. And he’s absolutely spot on, and his terminology will resonate with his electorate.
Courageous. And certainly going to reduce further attacks.
These are the worst losers in history. The absolute worst. Sad.!
It shows true courage to criticize killers who are hated by pretty much everyone.
This works better as sarcasm.
Comments like that do your cause no good.
He’s not criticising them, he’s deriding them.
If it were from anyone else, they would get a pass. “Evil losers” lacks the kind of literary oomph that’s required for the history books (we will never forget “axis of evil”). But it is adequate.
However, from Trump it is the kind of invective he routinely uses on his political opponents, the media, and Rosie O’Donnell. I can easily imagine him calling Hillary or Ted Cruz “evil loser” one of these days, forgetting that he already used it on the worst of the worst. The only thing the guy is effective at is coming up with catchy insults, and yet “evil losers” doesn’t even make the top 10. Maybe he’ll have something better for the next terrorist attack.
what do you think his cause is?
because if it’s to point out that the president is pretty much calling murders bad and that’s really easy to do and costs him nothing, then mission accomplished.
“Well said” is usually used in praise of something that was exceptionally well expressed, as opposed to more mundane and pedestrian phraseology. As such, something is considered to be “well said” when it elucidates an issue with original perspectives or fresh insights. I don’t think your example qualifies.
Are you serious Quartz? Calling the bastard an ‘evil loser’ gives Trump brownie-points? For what exactly? As far as I can tell, leaders in the west have universally condemned the bastard…would you seriously expect anything else?
The attack was a tremendous success from the terrorist perspective. It certainly caused a great amount of terror. So while it’s certainly “evil”, I’m not sure “loser” applies.
Welllll…
Truly courageous.
Geez, the bar is set so low that when he puts two words together (that someone else probably wrote) that actually make sense, he’s practically a candidate for the Pulitzer.
I’m sure Mr. Trump appreciates your giving him some stick, and I’m sure he’d like to give you some as well since he certainly isn’t getting any from his trophy wife. Meanwhile, as he makes nugatory and ineffectual statements about terrorists which you believe will “resonance with his electorate”, e.g. the somewhat less than half of the voters who decided to believe that a fictitious border wall and a fairy tale about bringing back obsolete labor jobs were the best solutions to address national problems, he consorts with authoritarian regimes and dismisses concerns about human rights violations. He is a splendid example of everything a good leader–or even a decent human being–should aspire to not do, such as whine at every opportunity about how unfair it is that is that he is ridiculed by a late night comedy program, blatantly lie about proveable facts such as how many votes he recieved or the size of the crowd at his inauguration, or openly admire strongman dictators.
Literally nothing Donald Trump has ever spoken in his entire life could be described as “Well said.” He speaks the words that William Shakespeare would have written if the Bard were oxygen-deprived at birth. He is only slightly more coherent than a Romero zombie, and thankfully moves just about as fast. His intellectual depth rivals only that of a kindergartener, and he probably can’t count as quickly or accurately given his inability to grasp concepts such as budgets and labor estimates.
But hey, good job to Trumpy for making a speech that was mostly complete sentences and actually expressed simulated condolences. Gold star for Trumpy! What sacrifice! What altruism! Who’s a Big Boy? Who’s a Big Boy? Is Donny a Big Boy?
Exactly! <rocket raccoon>“Oh, no, you’re supposed to use a sarcastic voice. Now I look foolish.”</rocket raccoon>
Stranger
Yup. Lower expectations to zero or below and you get credit for just showing up. Next he’ll explain to us that water is wet and someone will say he deserves a Nobel Prize in chemistry.
He’ll get a prize for NOT wearing his underpants on his head during dinner.
If only Obama hadn’t caved to pressure from the PC liberals and had the backbone to call out these terrorists for what they really are we’d have defeated them years ago. “Evil losers”, indeed.
Hise electorate. You mean the most profoundly stupid voters in this country? America’s worst Americans?
Yeah, that will probably resonate with those feckless goobers.
