Well, Somebody's Gotta Do The MMP

Swampy, what is Agape? Sounds like you should be standing around with your mouths open.

It’s 14 degrees. It MIGHT hit 31. One year ago it was 50 degrees warmer. I’ll take the cold.

It’s also Firday for me since I am taking tomorrow and Monday off. Two 4 day work weeks. Neener.

Shiny Cat you can give me nick name. I has been feeling kind of left out ;). Perhaps it will make up for what so far has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad morning, and its only 0922. Gulp.

Heh WetOne Agape is sorta kinda described as a kind of love and awe that leaves one’s mouth agape. Here’s a summary of the practice of Agape Meals in the early Christian church. This is what we’ve been sorta recreatin’ durin’ Lent and as a part of Holy Week. It boils down to a common meal with the celebration of the Eucharist at the end of the meal.

I have no energy or desire to do anything today, I can’t even be bothered to take a shower. I also have to pee, but don’t want to get off the couch. :frowning: My kitchen is a mess and I have to clean it up, but the baby is sapping all of my reserves. I need help

 No boots for you!

Major blurfage here!!BlurffBLURF

Someone said “both”, responded “yes”, so, gee, that makes four or five of us.

And the hits just keep on comming. My brother-in-law (Mr. Jynxster’s sister’s husband) got formally indicted on 8 class A felonies and 8 Class B felonies. Weeeeeeeeee!

LIke the couple who had been lovingly married for 3 years -------- out of 57?

Swampy funny how we mere humans can be drawn together with a meal.

Agape is a word that brings back old memories, I used to work for a church in DFW that was named Agape Christian Fellowship. This is a predominately african-american church (I highly recommend a visit one Sunday for a service, to the denomination of your choice, it’s different, loud and fun) which once a month did “Christian Jazz” on a Sunday afternoon. This was no ordinary jazz concert, they brought in A level players and tore the roof off the Church house. First time I did the concert I brought enough PA to cover 1500 or so people(appx the capacity of the sanctuary), after the show they said “Jim, that was great, next time bring more subs(subwoofers)” which I did. So we are doing jazz on Sunday at Rock Concert volumes with enough low end to make you queasy and the bass player is starting to tickle my brain, he is a Church member named Chuck, but he is a monster funky, chunky and musical, just damn good and he kinda looks familiar. He comes to me after the show to thank me for the show and for teaching his daughter audio 101 (the youth group ran sound for services and I gave them a couple of classes). He is highly complimentary of my work and says how much he enjoys having me there as he knows it is going to be good, he thanks me for teaching the kids and hopes the church is paying me enough. I say “thanks Chuck, I am Jim, Jim Kirk” he says “good to meet you ,Chuck, Chuck Rainey”. I almost passed out. CR for those who don’t know was the bassist for Steely Dan(last few records) and is one of the top session guys in the world, it was as close to being touched by God as I am likely to be.

Anyhoo happy Thorsday all

The how I got married thread will be a bit in coming as I am busy today

Cheers all

Jim

I’m wondering what death chicken is. Aren’t most of the chickens you eat usually dead? :stuck_out_tongue:

I asked him once, but I’ve forgotten.
I keep seeing a chicken in black armor with a helmet.
hissss…cluck, cluck. hissss.

Lucky or The Great X.

Death chicken is in the Mumper’s recipe blog.
I am so upset right now. I’m all psyched up for my doctor’s appointment to find out what is going to happen about my knee and whether or not I’m going to have surgery. I’ve also been putting off getting my stuff together for my summer shows because I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get around on my own. Tomorrow was my appointment and now they’ve called and rescheduled it for next Friday. :(:frowning:

The Lucky X?

which can be found here.

Cute and thoughtful of others!

Somehow, my autoCAD setup has been screwed up. My toolbars are rearranged or missing, the dimension bar switched from what I usually use to “Power Dimensioning” - whatever that is, and in general, it’s become a pain in the butt to use. I’m convinced my computer here is possessed…

Just finished lunch - it was tasty. It’s snowing - that sucks. :stuck_out_tongue: And now I get to jump into a project that seemed easier when it was suggested than it’s become in practice. I’m still thinking about how to attack it. I’m not just sitting here staring into space. Seriously!!!

I am happy there are two support threads for stuff I deal with - depression and ADD. I am bummed because there’s a thread on suicide by train that has a ginormous amount of hostility, and I am flailing, trying to acknowledge the pain behind the anger while still trying to humanize the people who do these terrible things.

A week ago, I lost my Fitbit and was grumbling and whining a bit, and a most wonderful friend (who shall remain Sticky) contacted the manufacturer, and it looks like I might get a free replacement! If that happens, I will sing the praises of Fitbit to the skies.

In the meantime, I have misplaced both my check card and my swiss army knife. I’m hoping that whatever planetary influence is causing me to shed important belongings like so much hair will be satisfied with what it’s gotten and leave well enough alone.

Also, the weather keeps changing, giving me a headache. Blurf.

Well then, there won’t be any knocking boots for you!
