So-I’m listening to the classic rock station and I hear the opening of a great Queen song and I am all ready to rock out and sing along when the verse starts and all I can think about is Las Vegas. I had to turn it off before I got through the first chorus. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to listen to it again.
If it’s any comfort, when I was young (c. 1980) my brother told me he’d seen something on TV about John Lennon’s murder and in the background they were playing the song.
He was the original troll, however, fond of making up disturbing stories to get a rise out of others.
I personally thought the song was about an IRA hit.
