After all the crap was flung, after all the tears were shed, after the three day’s notice to move out of our house in the Valley (owned by my boss), after me walking out of my job in disgust (a week after moving out of the house) after being put on employment probation because I did other jobs in addition to my own. And I did them because the other cow-orkers who were assigned those tasks did not know how to do them! After living in my sister’s 8’X14’ office space for 2 1/2 weeks with cadolphin and two active cats, WE FOUND OUR OWN PLACE!
And I got a new job!
Things are looking up. My new boss has been a friend of mine for almost 10 years, and I’m excited to be working for him! He met my salary requirements, he gave me a HUGE territory (all of Orange County!), two HUGE clients to get me started, and our new place is a beautiful older townhouse about 2 miles from the ocean in Huntington Beach!
We’re moving Wednesday. Thank you all for your support in this, we’ve appreciated the e-mails asking about us, and, oh yes, BTW, if any of you LA or OC dopers are free anytime Wednesday 8/27 through Monday 9/1, we could use some support in our move. We will have movers on Wednesday, but can always use help arranging the new house and pulling it all together. We’d like to be halfway unpacked and settled in as I start my new job Tuesday 9/2.
We’re arranging utilities including our DSL service tomorrow (cadolphin sez “YAY! No Dialup!”), so we’ll hopefully be up and running again real soon! We still have limited internet access at this point, but we’ll try to check e-mail and the board before Wednesday.
Let us know if you can help, please, and we hope to be overrun with Dopers this week.
Yeah. That’s the ticket. Call it a Mini-Dopefest! I’ll even spring for the root beer and pizza and maybe a real beer or two.
