It was the one where the whole thread was a kind of template for a real thread. It was very witty and I’m sure most ‘established’ dopers remember it.
Were there any spinoffs? Such as ‘poll’, ‘great debate’ ‘general question’?

I’m pretty sure there was a “Witness”, but I dunno about any others.
I seem to recall the Pit had a “Rant”, which was subsequently closed of course.
Rant! includes the following line by iampunha:
“Exclamation that this thread sounds a lot like “Thread” and “Witness” but refusal to dig up links to either.”
I thought about doing one called ‘Poll’ but I couldn’t figure out the wording.
Maybe there were two “Rant” threads. That’s not the one I was thinking of.
Funny–that’s exactly what I was thinking. Search must be holding out on us. It didn’t turn up the “Witness” thread either.
