Werewolf - a game.

Yeah, seeing as how I made this argument earlier about JSexton, I probably should have been more careful about my own proclamation. But don’t lynch me, I’m not a werewolf!

Is Miller gonna be replaced or strung up if he has quit?If it’s the latter, voting for him is a wasted vote.

Hey, hey, hey! A guy forgets to shave for a coupla days, and everyone’s calling him a werewolf?! Is this town being run by the Gillette corporation, or something?

I’ll tell you what I think. I don’t trust that JSexton, that’s what I think. Always hanging around the church graveyard. With that shovel. You know why he does that? Burying the evidence, that’s why! Somebody check his breath: I bet it smells like Rysto!

JSexton is a werewolf!

I vote for moonstarssun. Look here: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=8249993&postcount=125

Were your ears burning Miller?

I’m pretty suspicious of JSexton myself. He’s very set on leading the mob in a single direction. As I mentioned earlier, I think he’s doing it in a way that limits the amount we’re going to learn about our fellow townsfolk. The only thing that gives me pause is that he was the first to vote for Menocchio. Still, he seems pretty friggin’ bloodthirsty, and I’m reluctant to follow his lead today.

Who else is on my radar? Cometothedarksidewehavecookies, for her defense of Menocchio (and admittedly because she voted to kill me)… Rubystreak, who seems to be more interested in how many times we all post than she is in what we say… Ogre, who looks like he’s trying to lure the seer out into the dark night… Miller, who’s uncharacteristically quiet in this thread.

Right now, I’m leaning toward voting for Ogre.

Recap of people who have been voted for most:

Mennochio 7
jsgoddess 7
One And Only Wanderers 5
Jsexton 4
Miller 3

These include day one and day two votes, and do not include accusations that were not made official. Unvotes have not been factored in.

Ahem.

:: cough ::

I have to say that I echo those sentiments. Something just occured to me, Jsexton seemed to have little reason to choose Mennochio, but I’m starting to think it was a very clever ruse. Jsexton has played before, seems to be leading us with his experience, and is no doubt aware of some very cunning strategies. I think that he voted for Mennochio not to get him lynched, but to get the Seer to investigate him. The Seer, having never investigated anyone, very well might have trusted the advice of Jsexton because of his experience. Mennochio would have appeared to be a townsperson to the Seer (being the Alpha Wolf), and would have been identified as a townie if the Seer were killed and had to leave breadcrumbs. This would make the Alpha Wolf that much more safe, a sound strategy for keeping a fellow werewolf alive.

That said, I think I have to unvote Miller and vote Jsexton.

Are you sure you’re not singling me out just because I don’t shave my legs?

I happen to agree with you about Ogre, though. The whole Seer thing smells funny.

I’m voting for Ogre.

I don’t think the Seer was able to use his power the first day, was he?Frankly,I’m surprised at all the Jsexton suspicions.Granted, I pointed a finger at him early on,but he has convinced me otherwise.

The Seer would have used his power that night, had he/she inspected Mennochio because of Jsexton’s accusation, he/she would have been fooled. Maybe I’m way off base, I just think that it’s odd that the main bad guy was called out right away. I don’t think that anyone knew he was a wolf, except his fellow wolves. So why was his name even bought up? If it was luck, it was a one in twenty shot.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it.

Let’s assume for the moment that JSexton is a werewolf. It would be fairly risky to lay suspicion on Menocchio and hope that some townie gets lynched instead, and then hope that the Seer would investigate him and get a false townie reading. Even if Menocchio survived the first day, there were several other suspicious people the Seer might have investigated.

On the other hand, if JSexton thought Menocchio was a liability and would draw too much attention to the other werewolves, setting him up makes sense. I don’t think there’s any conclusive evidence either way.

Ah well. What can I say to prove my innocence? There’s no pentagram on my paw - errr, hand.

Anyhoo, I’m voting Enginerd, because he was the first to try damage control by posting

Nah, it wasn’t cleverness or a plurality of suspicious evidence, it was an accident. Fuzzy bastard. :stuck_out_tongue:

There was reason to suspect that Menocchio was a werewolf, but there was no reason to suspect he was the Alpha. We got lucky on that account.

The obvious flaw in that theory is that I didn’t just cast a vote, I also rode Menocchio to lynch, several times urging more people to vote for him. Does that really sound like a good plan?

How did I know he was scum? I didn’t, not for sure. My initial vote was to get a reaction, and I didn’t see anything from him that reassured me he was town, so I kept it there. We certainly got lucky.

I’m not likely to vote for someone simply because they don’t shave.

Enginerd in real life.

Aw crap! That’ll teach me to compose a post, leave for a couple of hours, and come back and submit without reading the rest of the thread.

Ogre, don’t click that link.

:smack:

I’m a fairly aggressive player. This is how I hunt. (for scum, obv, not sheep or townsfolk)

And I’m encouraging posting, not discouraging it. That’s how you learn about people.

I guess the luck explaination does fall in line with Occam’s razor. Maybe I’m getting too trigger happy. Unvote Jsexton.
