Werewolf - a game.

Ah. I missed the significance of that. I didn’t vote for her because of her Miller vote, but rather the bandwagon voting that happened to be for Miller.

But, obviously, both are probably townspeople.

I changed back to moonstarssun instead of switching to a different suspect based on jsgoddess’s observation that both of moon’s votes are of the bandwagon-type. My original suspicions were (1) she’s not posting much in the game (which she explained on Day One as a lack of time due to work/school) but (2) she’s not posting much in the game and voted for Miller because he’s not posting much in the game either and (3) she posted at least 2 werewolf-related jokes, which makes me wonder if that’s a werewolf being cute and clever (because “Why would I joke about being a werewolf if I was one, that’d give me away?”).

I keep second guessing myself on that last one, though. I don’t know moon well enough to know if she’d joke about being a werewolf because she is one or because she isn’t one. Anyone else care to venture an opinion?

Edited to add: Yeah, that’s pretty thin, but all the votes are on stuff that are pretty thin.

I’m not sold on any of the theories just yet, with the exception of my own ponderings. The odds are pretty good that we’ll end up lynching a townie no matter what. So at this point, the method used to choose someone is less important than the methods we will use in subsequent days.

That said, random.org tells me to vote for hocow.

Errrr, sorry for snapping. :smack:

I’m a little stressed.

No problem. It looks like you’ve got a full plate, even without the hassle of worrying about having your neck stretched, or ripped out, whichever comes first.

My vote for Miller was based on the fact that he’s a frequent poster elsewhere on the board. He was being quiet in this one. Uncharacteristic behavior=suspicious in my book. It wasn’t a bandwagon vote so much as an “oh yeah, you’re right, where is he anyway” vote.

If Giraffe were playing, and we hung him, would we need an extra large gallows?

OK, I’m going to bed. At this point, I’m leaning toward either **moonstarssun **or Rubystreak, based on the fact that they voted early on for Miller, which I figure is as good a reason as any at this point. Right now, a vote for Rubystreak is basically “wasted” unless a bunch of people follow my lead, which would be very surprising and frankly just plain stupid. A vote for moonstarssun would, if I have my numbers correct, set up a 4-4 tie with Miller.

So my plan is to get a good night’s sleep and check the thread before I leave for work in the morning. I’m hoping that someone will come in overnight with some incredible new insight, or that failing that the answer will come to me in a dream.

Your numbers are right, Suburban Plankton. A penultimate count;

Miller - 4 Votes (Rubystreak, moonstarssun, Enginerd, Winston Smith)

moonstarssun - 3 Votes (Kat, jsgoddess, unfinished symphony)

Ogre - 2 Votes (ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies, One and Only Wanderers)

JSexton - 1 Vote (Ogre)

Richard Parker - 1 Vote (hocow)

Winston Smith - 1 Vote (MadTheSwine)

hocow - 1 Vote (dnooman)

Voting closes at 6:00 my time, which is in six hours from the time of this post. Get your votes in, people.

Welly, welly, well. A Monday noon-time lynching.

Didn’t Chicago do a song about that?

A Monday lynching in the Park

*A Monday lynching in the park
I think I’ll take a pic-i-nic lunch
A Monday lynching in the park
I think I’ll take a pic-i-nic lunch
People dancing, people laughing
A man selling lint rollers
Singing werewolf songs
(wolf-like grunting and snorting)
Can you dig it? (Yes I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For the lynching

A Monday lynching in the park
You should take a pic-i-nic lunch
A Monday lynching in the park
You should take a pic-i-nic lunch
Waving pitchforks, raising torches
A man playing guitar
Hippies are werewolves
Will you help him slaughter chickens
Can you dig it (Yes I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For the lynching

A Slow moving mob fly the colors of the day
The accused man still can tell stories his own way
Listen children all is not lost
All is not lost

Let’s string him up in the park
Every day’s a lynching day
Let’s string him up in the park
Every day’s a lynching day
People chanting, people screaming
A real celebration
Waiting for us all
Can you dig it (Yes I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For the lynching*

Well, I’m going to be random and vote moonstarssun, pretty much because I suspect Miller less.

Um, why is it a good reason? I think I’ve been pretty transparent in my voting logic-- faulty though it may be, whose isn’t?-- and I certainly didn’t jump on any bandwagon. I guess the random swings of the FOS will eventually point at everyone, so I’ll try not to take this personally, but still…

I never said it was a *good *reason, just that it was as good as anything else at the moment. If you read my posts, I’ve explained my own logic, which is as well thought out as anyone else’s at this point. Which is to say, not very.

Uh, yeah, Chief, I read your posts. Kinda have to, don’t I?

I actually didn’t SEE any logic to your vote for me. “She voted for Miller.” OK, but I voted for Miller for reasons I have consistently stated: you deliberately choose to lurk, you get the FOS. I am not the only person who believes that this is necessary to keep the game running; as JSexton said, and RT, our eminent Mod of this game reinforced: lurking is not an acceptable strategy, and in the absence of other damning evidence, lurking in itself is cause for question.

Your “logic” seems to be, come up with a random excuse to vote for someone. That doesn’t actually count as a “reason.” It gets a big old :dubious: from me.

Whoa, awfully defensive for someone who is not even close to being lynched.

You could be lynched just for that.

I prefer to think of it as being offensive. This is the first accusation I’ve gotten, and it feels weird, out of the blue, and completely unjustified. Also, I find random finger-pointing suspicious in and of itself, don’t you?

I think I explained my logic in this post. At least, that’s the best explanation I could come up with. I’ve said all along that there’s precious little to go on at this point.

I have several different, and often contradictory, lines of reasoning going right now. One of them says that I should vote for moonstarssun, for reasons explained in the linked post. Another says that I should vote for **Miller **because he isn’t coming in to defend himself.

In the end, I’m not terribly comfortable with casting what quite possibly would be the deciding vote this late in the game, since we are just a couple hours away from “sundown”. I’m going to hold my tongue for now, and let fate (or another poster) decide this one.

Since we still don’t have much data, no. It’s random. Your vote is random. Does that mean you’re suspicious of yourself?

vote moonstarssun. Because I really don’t think Miller is a wolf at tis point, and I’d rather see someone lynched who I’m less certain about.
