Most notably: She’s talking an insane amount compared to everyone else. Mafia tend to look different than other players (the way varies, but standing out tends to be slightly indicative). Her post count suggests she’s worth watching.
She’s also pinged me slightly on other issues, but that’s what stood out to me. Of course, my “best guess” on Day 1 isn’t worth all that much. Oh: she has played before, just not here.
fluiddruid, the information part of your post seems sensible and you seem to agree with Lemur866 (except perhaps for the lurker kill in early rounds). Lemur866s posts made at least as much sense to me.
I don’t know at all where your gut feeling is coming from, but going for an experienced player who has and explains a good strategy is a possible scum tell (yes, I’m aware that I’m going for an experienced player myself now).
So unless you can explain your vote a bit better, Test fluiddruid
In the absence of anything better (I’m not picking up the same anti-Town vibe from DaphneBlack that so many of you apparently are), test-the-lurker seems reasonable enough to me. I also think we may as well get the immediate feedback, so
As far as my vote, the one who strikes me the most “iffy” is Telcontar - I don’t agree intuitively with his math and his urging for us to postpone a lynching. On the face of it, it seems anti-town.
However, not anti-town enough that I won’t go with the “vote the lurker”. IMHO we need to keep those who post around because that’s information in and of itself for later use.
Damnit! I forgot that the unvote for testerizer and lynch were different. Can’t we unvote in the same color? ::looks cute and befuddled by color choice::
At the moment, the Testerizer is all we’ve got; I hope we have more info later in the Day, or by Day 2. So for now, I have to side with
Lynch whomever we Test
It’s early in the Day, so I’m not too concerned about any particular vote pattern yet. I’m willing to move my vote for Test around as information comes out. (In other words, november please speak up.)
I note that we will need a minimum of two different data points to figure out the Testerizer. This assumes the following conjectures are true:
The Testerizer is consistent – a given set of outputs maps to a single, nonchanging set of inputs.
I’m not going to count this as a vote, because it’s ambiguous.
Vote Count!
november (7): Lemur866, Freudian Slit, Oredigger77, Telecontar, Mahaloth, Jimmy Chitwood , rexnervous
Telcontar (2): Zeriel, Daphne Black
Daphne Black (1): Seeker of Truth and Beauty
Lemur866 (1): fluiddruid
fluiddruid (1): [Undecided] Adrian
Freudian Slit (1): Scuba_Ben
november (3): Lemur866, Jimmy Chitwood, rexnervous
Lemur866 (1): fluiddruid
Telcontar (1): Zeriel
Elendil, I don’t like that one bit–I guess you are probably voting to lynch for the testing leader while voting to test the person you find most suspicious, but it looks weird after all the discussion to be voting for someone other than your intended test target.
Yes, at this point it doesn’t make sense to test/vote different people.
The voting/testing for november is obviously all Lynch-The-Lurker motivated, and that’s OK, but I don’t think we have absolutely nothing else to go on at this point. It seems to me that folks are going for the easy option with this.
Really? You think my saying that I thought the votes for november were ‘OK’ is a defence? You’ve gotta be kidding me.
Also, seriously, anyone who smudges me for being ‘vociferous’ - that is a big :dubious: from me. Everyone should be talkative! We should all want to hear everyone’s thoughts. It’s by talking to each other we can find scum.
I’m on the record saying that I think lynch-the-lurker is a better scum-catching strategy after a few Days. On Day One LTL has a similar problem to no-lynch (tho less severe obviously), in that it leaves us with very little info gained from the lynch.
