Werewolf (Mafia)--The Split [Signups--In progress]

Well, I don’t know who I should vote for. My one suspicion is apparently shared by nobody and wasn’t commented upon by anyone uninvolved.

So, Freudian Slit is in the lead right now with 5, followed by Seeker and Telcontar with 3.
If I get on FS’s bandwagon, there is a good chance she gets tested, but I don’t see a good reason to. Has anybody a convincing argument for or against?

I’m going to bed right now (it’s 2 AM) and return in the morning. Probably the thread will move on a bit before that…

Nitpick: on the NASCAR circuit.

Inserted under the one last content-free-post after leaving rule.

Good post overall.

I’m faced with choosing the best of several bad options. It seems like the only plausible test candidates for tomorrow are myself, seeker, and Freudian.
1.) I think this is really dangerous. We’ve eliminated 3/4 of the potential pool without any good cause.
2.) being stuck with these options, I have a chance to break a temporary tie and maybe create some momentum. I know that i’m innocent and that testing me would be a complete waste. I’ve seen absolutely no reason to think seeker is a wolf; in fact those trying to get him killed are making such silly arguments that I’m much more suspicious of them. That leaves Freudian. Though I’m reluctant to side with Daphne, I’m no reason to be certain she’s a wold, just suspicious. thus I can’t ignore my best plausible target just because she agrees with me. Also there’s a possibility that they’re playing some weird deep mindgame together and are both wolves :-P.

Honestly I’d be happy to test a random dice roll of the people voting for seeker, but that’s simply not going to happen

Now that I think about it some more, I suppose you’re right. It would have been even more suspicious if she had voted for you, since she had never actually accused you of anything. Voting for Seeker did jive with her previous observations, so I guess it’s not too suspect after all.

And I don’t know what you’re talking about when you say I’m encouraging not actively looking for scum. I think you’re reaching a bit there. Her vote just seemed strange to me at the time, and I was hoping to get some clarification from her.

Apology accepted, and I can’t remember have the stuff I’ve speculated over the past 12 pages of posts, so don’t worry about it.

As for who was “driving” the scumminess of the “wolf being rancher/farmer” discussion, I’m honestly not sure. I would have said Ichiri, but others picked up on it and any idea(especially wrong and distracting ones) can be picked up by wolves to lead us down the wrong path.

Hey, I’m not even sure it was scumminess in the first place.

Let me re-read some things and post about another topic in a minute or a few.

What suspicion is that? Care to elaborate?

Fair enough. What I meant about encouraging not looking for scum was just that you were telling her she should have voted for someone she was explicitly not suspicious of, rather than the person she said she was suspicious of (for whatever reason). Maybe not ‘looking’ for scum was a bad way to put it, instead of not going on voting record with who you think is scummiest.

For: If she turns up RED GREEN like November did, we’ll know to a reasonable degree of certainty that she is telling the truth about being an ordinary Rancher. Narrows the hunt down by one player for this and all subsequent rounds.

And if she gets a different result, we can lynch her. Even if she’s just an ordinary Farmer or a Rancher with a power role, it’ll give us a better understanding of the testerizer.

Against: If she does end up RED GREEN, and we end up lynching someone else, we’ll be a day behind on deciphering testerizer results, since we won’t know what the lynchee’s colors would have been.

Okay, that make sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

I wound up not hitting the bed immediately…

But hell, I think I found the first power role, it is me and I am the invisible man  . Most of my posts discussed that one, and it can easily be found with a small search.

I don’t think repeating it does much except save you a bit of work, but it was fluiddruid (see pages 4 and 6). Nothing will come of it toDay, though.

I
I’m still thinking about Scuba_Ben and wondering why he was killed. That really hasn’t been debated very much. I think he did mention being an experienced player, so maybe that was what got him killed. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
/QUOTE]

I suggested that it was a combination of experience and having made the Google Doc. Signs of experience and organization like that were probably an indication that ScubaBen would be highly useful in helping us solve this thing and kill the wolves.

:sigh:

At this point, I think Telcontar has responded to my concerns pretty well and I’m left with no clear "scum to vote for testing. I never did vote to kill Telcontar, just for the record.

Anyway:

Untest Telcontar

Can someone summarize the reasons to test Freudian or Seeker? I’ll agree to test one of them if there is a compelling reason, but I don’t want to rush. I’ll try to check in before the “due date” tomorrow.

By the way, did I un-vote for testing correctly?

Oh, sorry, I do remember that. I read your post as saying you had another suspicion (that you hadn’t mentioned because you were waiting to see what others said). I see now that’s not what you meant. My apologies.

Yay!

I was serious about being concerned re: the seeker votes Ichini Sanshigo and Oredigger77 (also Freudian, but people are already thinking about him). Ichini could just have been being silly, but there was a bit of a pile on there for no apparent reason. Anyone have any deep thoughts about that?

Explain what you just said there for me. I don’t get it.

Yeah, you’re probably right.

The more I think about it, the more I want to test Freudian Slit. She’s been pinging my radar a lot toDay, and I’m willing to bet that she is lying about being an ordinary Rancher. I’d rather take the chance and hopefully get some new testerizer data and double-hopefully lynch a wolf.

test Freudian Slit

Freudian Slit (6): Daphne Black, Fluiddruid, rexnervous, SoT&B, Justin Credible, Daphne Black
Telcontar (2): Jimmy Chitwood, Allwalker
Seeker of Truth and Beauty (3): Freudian Slit, Ichini Sanshigo, Oredigger77

Seeker of Truth and Beauty (1): Ichini Sanshigo
Freudian Slit (1): Fluiddruid
Telcontar (1): Jimmy Chitwood

That’s your summary? There’s no evidence there.

Sigh. If you guys go ahead and test me, you’re going to be wasting a really good test since I am going to turn up as a rancher, but as long as you promise not to lynch me when my colors are revealed to be the same as november’s, then okay, go ahead.

I think the votes for seeker are fairly inexplicable. Ichini Sanshigo’s only makes sense if he’s really bent out of shape about whether wolves can be farmers. Oredigger77 admits he has little to go on, but seems to be going far to hold a minor grudge from yesterday; seeker apparently “smudged” daphne, which doesn’t strike me as “Look at me, i’m a wolf!” play.

As far as I can see, seeker is just a new player acting like a new player. Very far down my list of suspects, and I can’t find any reason why he should be near the top of anyone else’s.

I, at least, promise not to vote to lynch you if your test result is identical to november’s: same colours, in the same order.

You’ve got Daphne on there twice.

Well, there’s no “evidence” of anyone. We can’t just take your word the whole game, and you’re as good a test as anyone. Plus, I think you’re lying. Yes, we may be wasting a really good test, like totally!, but won’t you be glad to be in the clear if you are, in fact, telling the truth?

I promise that too, FS.
