Telcontar seemed very anti Daphne for a while. I don’t know why.

Telcontar makes a good point that Daphne was super eager to “me too,” which does kind of make me suspicious. I get the sense that she’s relieved the pressure has gone anywhere but her. Now that it’s safely on me, she can relax.

But I do think at the same time that this “I have a feeling” about Daphne is just weird, and I feel like a lot of people (Seeker, included) are hiding behind this. And if everyone just says, “Oh yeah, I read the…tell. Can’t you see her…tell?” nobody really has to make a cogent argument. I don’t particularly think Daphne’s necessarily innocent, but a lot of people were very eager to see her lynched very early on.

The thing is, when I die and am revealed to be Town, it’s going to make a lot of people super suspicious of those who were trying really hard to lynch me. At the same time, you’d think that wolves wouldn’t try to get me lynched that hard because they’re the only ones who know for sure that I’m innocent. For a wolf to push me being lynched seems like a bad idea b/c they would know they’d get turned on the minute I was revealed to be town.

So for those reasons, I’d also be suspicious of anyone who says something like, “I think we have to lynch FS, but at the same time, I’m not entirely convinced she’s a wolf.” Actually, I think Daphne made that argument–the having it both ways position. “I want to lynch so and so because of the Testerizer results, but at the same time I think so and so is probably innocent.”

Hi everyone,

This is just a note to say that I’m going to be out of town for a few days. I don’t think I need to be subbed out, esp. since two of those days will be night. I hope to be able to check in at least once whilst I’m away, but I won’t have tonnes of time until Sunday evening.

Just thought I should tell everyone, so when my participation drops suddenly people don’t waste time coming up with elaborate theories as to why.

Thanks for your post, FS. A lot of what you have to say makes sense. Of course if you’re a wolf it will have to be ignored. And I want to reiterate that it is scummy to not take responsibility for your vote (as at least a few people are trying to do). I voted for you because you were the most suspicious to me. I stand by that now, although more importantly your lynch has generated a lot of good material.

I’m not convinced that Seeker is a wolf. I feel like the other wolves would have tried to reign him in or told him to chill out a bit. He really reads to me like a newbie townie who’s really paranoid and very vocal.

I can’t decide what to think about Telcontar’s relentless pursuit of me. I’ve seen lots of townies get an idea in their head and refuse to give it up. I’ve also seen scum do it to stir things up and to try to get townie cred when their townie target is lynched from a ‘scum would never do that’ angle.

I hope that everyone will participate more in future.

You aren’t doing the Midwinter Meeting are you? I’m trying to get my posted response together before tomorrow, because it’s going to be hard for me to get to a computer the next few days.

The what?

Go ahead, make my day. :dubious:

For the sake of consistency, should I start freaking out as I did for november’s potential subbing?

I think it’ll be a good idea to go and look, as you say, at the people who didn’t really make a good argument for voting for me but basically said something like, “Yeah, everyone else is doing it,” or “She seems like a wolf.” Or people who said nothing and just jumped on the bandwagon at the last minute.

Actually, there are a lot of really quiet players this game. I feel like if I’d posted much less, I wouldn’t have been tagged as scum. I also feel like that’s what pinged people’s radars for you–you were posting a lot of ideas very soon, and a lot in comparison with how much everyone else was posting, which honestly didn’t seem all that much compared with previous games.

This seems to be the way most games go. Whoever talks the most get their post picked through by the people who aren’t posting so its easier to find a ‘slip’. But if everyone drops back then the lurkers have less to go over and even less incentive to post which creates a downward spiral. I not sure what the solution to this is besides a minimum post count per day.

I think right now most people are holding back because the decision has already been made for toDay. I don’t like it but I am having trouble coming up with a way to stir up conversation. I’m really hoping you turn up town maybe we’ll make the decision to quite testing people and spend the whole week working on the lynch. Right now it seems people are afraid to post ideas because they know more information is coming and the don’t want to make assumptions without it.

It’s also probably because this is a newbie game, and some of us aren’t sure what exactly we’re doing  although I guess it’s not making me shy from posting. The value of my posts of course may be highly debatable.

There’s also the spotlight factor - how many times can we go over Daphne’s or Seeker’s posts, I mean there’s still not a lot of info to go on, and a lot of the commentary seems … repetitive. But there hasn’t been a lot of focus on too many other players (meaning, multiple people commenting on one player). So for me, right now I’m kind of worn out seeing the same issues bandied about.

For me, I made my one big play on the apparently incorrect Daphne/Freudian connection, so I have a lot to reconsider.

Be nice though if others posted just a tad more frequently.

I posted about Elendil’s Heir seeming Townie to me b/c he said something about how he was relieved not to have been eaten before the wolves had even finished deliberating, which seemed like something that a non wolf would say. So I would advise personally against voting him off the island. That’s the only thing I can think of in the pro-town camp. Everyone else could go either way for me. And that includes both the people who say that they regret to kill me but think there’s nothing else to do and the ones who are die-hard lynch FS.

Or, it’s the sort of thing a wolf would say. Using ignorance as camolflage is an easy strategy. I’d call this a null-tell.

There’s also no reason to post now; we’ve made the only decision that can be made this week. Personally I wish the Days were shorter. There’s never going to be all that much to say.

True, AllWalker, there’s never any way to tell, I suppose.

Telcontar, I agree. After a while, it feels like they stretch interminably. It might be better to wrap things up after everyone reaches a consensus, like in this case.

I can move the testerizer date to 24 hours before the lynch date, if you want.

Well, I don’t think this is necessary, yet, but I appreciate it. If we can’t solve the testerizer, we will need to focus on scum behavior in order to figure out who to lynch.

I think that Freudian will be a rancher and we will have to stop lynching the tested person, which means we’ll need the discussion time in the future.

A lot of people are saying that they think Freudian is a rancher. If you guys really believe that, argue for lynching someone else.

I don’t really have anything else to say. Does anyone else? Do you think we should just go ahead and lynch me a little early? Or do you guys think we should wait a while longer?

Okay, I guess not then. The Midwinter Meeting is the end-of-February networking event for dental professionals.

Is this some kind of…code?
