We are facing a tie in the lynch vote. Ties are bad, because the condemned is then determined randomly from some set of players; but even if the set of players is those tied for lynch allowing a random decision is bad. Particularly now when we have four days under our belt.
Telcontar has been bothering me since Day 1 (I was a spectator then, but it still bothered me). His urging of a no lynch at some point in the game, regardless of the game situation, is not helpful to town. Ironically there was a Day when no lynch would have been profitable in this game. Day 1. In retrospect, lynching November was a disaster because we now have nothing to look back on and contrast with current behaviour. No-one interacted with November in any meaningful way. The correct move would have been to lynch someone else, and sub November out. This would have maximised information.
That there is the key to the Town winning this game. Maximising the information gained from the losses in players. Telcontar has not once acknowledged this, despite his experience with the game. Maybe he simply hasn’t come round to this yet, or maybe he has but is trying to conceal it from the new players (who form a large majority in this game).
Elendil’s Heir has had several accusations of hiding behind fluff and lack of explanation. (see, for example, Fluiddruid’s post 1218. While this is not always indicative of Werewolf status, it’s more likely to be in a new player.
While I was typing this Daphne took the decision out of my hands. On balance I’d rrather lynch Telcontar, but voting for him would force a tie, and a tie is worse than not voting (imo – I know Telcontar disagrees).
I have the time for this.
Vote Telcontar.
@ EH : You have until Noon EDT to analyse my posts.
I’m leaving my vote where it is. I am of two minds about Telcontar - he’s made some plays that would be daring for a Wolf, though he seems to want to point out how often he’s doing so - and I’m not sure if EH is a newbie townie who’s afraid to post or a newbie scum who’s afraid to post, but I’d bet it’s not intentional lurking. I still think Oredigger is the better candidate and now that the tie’s been broken, I don’t feel I need to move my vote.
Meaningful vote records, a hard fought lynching of a wolf, strong on the record conflict…we might actually be able to win this. Great, I was hoping to finally get a break from this game and now I have real information to go dig up. Bah. It’s terrible state of affairs :).
Now I’ll take a drink. Vodka, no ice. With a chaser of vodka.
