I decided, just 10 minutes ago, to attend Westercon this weekend. No planning, no packing, no prep-I’m just going to show up Saturday morning and stay until Monday morning. 60 bucks for a two-day pass, but I haven’t been to one since the last time it was in Portland(back in 1995, I think.)
We used to have VikingCon in Bellingham, and my friend ran the hospitality suite one year. I helped her. It was…fun, and interesting, and weird and fascinating.

IT is now 2 am, I’ve had 10 different local brews, 1 of everyone’s favorite mixed drinks, been to at least 15 different room parties, and met hundreds of best friends I haven’t seen in at least 5 years.

I miss Westercon. I think the last time I went, I did well in the art show. (I always figure, it’s not worth going to a con unless I can sell something in the art show…)
The last con I went to was LACon in '96. It was a good con. I wasn’t in the art show, though. But it was still a nice con.
