Labor Day weekend they had 3 midnight screenings of the movie at the AMC Empire 25 on 42nd Street, and a bunch of the cast members were there and audience members dressed up like characters for prizes.
Then a week later the mailing list announced that they would continue doing the midnight weekend showings until further notice! Whee!!
So last night I went with a bunch of friends and it was SO GREAT! The present cast members weren’t the best selection, but Janeane Garafolo (who looked pretty bad) was there and so was Zak Orth, David Wain, Joe Lotruglio, A.D. Miles, the guy who plays guitar, and I think that was it for cool people. My friend tied for 3rd place dressed as Abbe Bernstein. She won a Camp Firewood t-shirt and got Janeane to sign it. I am very very jealous.
Some guy was inexplicably dressed up as a pirate (and admittedly a bit drunk) and started making pirate jokes to the rest of the audience before the show. However I, with my Super Jew shirt on, shamed him into silence with my super powers. ;j
