We've had an addition to the family yesteray

My step son came to live with me yesterday. Now all the boys are together again.

Just thought I’d share.

Do they all get along?

Oh yeah they get along great. He’s their older brother (ex wife had a son before we met) and he spent the last 2 years in a group home. I’ve been picking him up ever other weeked or so for those two years and they released him to me yesterday. It was like X-Mas at home yesterday.

Wow, congratulations! I’m sure that he is much happier now, and his mama must be thrilled!

Hi auntie em I know he’s much happier, but his Mom will probably chalk it up as one more reason to hate me. Part of the reason he was in there so long is that they wouldn’t release him to her custody.

Oh. I read that wrong. I somehow thought that he was the son of your current wife (from a previous relationship on her part), and that she’d be happy to have her boy home.

As it is, shit… the ex needs to get over herself and be glad that you are willing and able to give the kid a good home.

How does the kid feel about his mother?

Well he’s more aware of her problems than the younger boys, and has pretty much written her off. He still talks to her, but he doesn’t believe in her any more if you catch the meaning. He’s a real good kid, he’s only a couple of credits shy of graduating HS a year early. We’re trying to get him into UNC, so he’d be able to save some money, on tuition, my Mom is a NC resident and considers him her first grandson.

I’m glad it’s working out great. My aunt has a couple of foster daughters that visit every other weekend too. If the agency forces the girls to change homes, (they’ll do that every once in a while, just for fun  ) the hubby and I are considering becoming their foster or adoptive parents. These kids and my natural kids adore each other so much, I don’t really care that the house is so full, (sometimes its even easier if you can imagine that). That would make me the mom of FIVE  They’re the best though, I love em too much.

You’re a good sort, Stuffy. Congratulations to you and your family.
