Whaddya mean, it's December in the MMP?!?

A better heave, and another 13 hours in the book. I didn’t do Whamageddon this year, but just as well. I was out at 0218 this morning.

This is somehow less stressful than the 25 years in retail management. At least there isn’t meetings and conference calls afterwards now.

The PVD(Personal Vehicle Driver), aka UPS InstaCart. What really bothers me is when I’m walking in the parking areas where they’re pulling in to grab their packages, and the car headed towards me has body damage. :grimacing:

That’s what I thought, 22 years ago.

She was channeling movie EOD tech. Cut the green wire…

{{{{Boofae and Ophelia}}}}

Did some shopping for Christmas cookies today. No luck on candied cherries. Went to the Co-op first. Why is it that people who work in co-ops have so much attitude?
“Excuse me?”
::annoyed look from employee::
“Do you carry candied fruit?”
::heavy sigh:: What kind of fruit?
“Like candied cherries?”
“I dunno; I’ll go ask someone.”
Nobody comes back and I leave. At least they had almond flour.

Sunny and cold in Big Minnie today. The side roads are still snowy and slippery. I’m loving my new Uggs. The soles are really sticky for winter walking. Vibram, I’m guessing.

Store-bought sushi for lunch. Probably something from the freezer for dinner.

awww I’ve always thought an otter would be a cool pet .as long as you lived near a river … I know people have done it before and they get along with cats and dogs …

Yeah, fun. That’s one way of looking at it. DysFUNctional is another.

I’m in a decent mood - the kidlet napped almost 3 hours! I had to wake him for feed before we go fetch is sister. Which I need to do in about 20 minutes. So don’t distract me, dammit!!!

Well, good afternoon all. Got distracted this morning by something (no idea what) and didn’t do my usual early posting, then watched World Cup and went to the gym. Just put the calories back on and will be heading back to the TV for the afternoon’s soccer, then maybe back to the gym (exciting life, eh?). It’s 48F outside but feels colder, at least there is no rain. Filled up gas tank, only cost $72 this time.

Flyboy, that’s otterly wonderful.

No snow here in N. Ali-bama and none likely before February, thankfully. Get any snow/slush on the streets and it becomes Apocalyptic round here.

BBBoo, love the tree saga. And remember, tree first and then do your rum drinking (the other way may be more entertaining but I don’t want you to get hurt).

CorpusNeptune, welcome and if you like the company here, stick around for awhile (awhile can mean from a week to twenty years). As for a MMP name, Godbod (Neptune was God of the Seas and Corpus means body, IIRC) sound possible, unless that’s sacrilegious or the rest of the gang has a better one.

Add my scritches to Ophelia’s collection, boo fae; hope the animal Doc can give you some good news.

Taters, hope the drive isn’t needed, as fast as things change out in the mountains, hate to see you stranded.

FCM, hopeing for good weather for the craft sale.

shady, your bar story reminded me of one Thanksgiving I had to fly back on T-Day because of work-travel the next day. Flight had about 7 people on a MD-80 (usually holds about 150 people) and we were all allowed to sit up in Business Class, no charge. Yeah, Thanskgiving Day be odd for things.

OK, need to watch the soccer games. All y’all take care now.

Howdy Y’all! We were bears who N.O.L. (that hole in the wall place does a fine meat ‘n three, plus ‘nanner puddin’ for dessert!), and we early voted. We were in and out of there in under ten minutes to early vote. OYKW was number 2025 and I was number 2026 amongst the early voters this week. That’s a lot of folks for the area we live in. We have also achieved nappage. Day drinkin’ will commence shortly. Needless to say, any other need to feed today will be via forage.

Godbod welcome to the MMP. I like that as a nickname. So mote it be! This is a strange but mostly probably not likely to axe murder anyone group.

Boo a likker sto’ next to Lowe’s sounds like a good business plan on their part. I mean Lowe’s sometimes makes me want to drink. Hope you beat the tree into submission today.

cookie I shudder at the thought of candied fruit, but hope you are successful in your quest.

MOOOOOOM appropriate/inappropriate appendages are crossed for good weather on Sattidy.

BooFae here’s hopin’ the vet can pull of a miracle for Ophie. Add me to the list of Mumpers offerin’ gentle skritches.

Taters hope you can avoid that drive. Do you need some PSWSLNS?

doggio yay for a less stressful heave.

shady you reminded me of some bars from my mispent youth. Waaaaaay back then, bars would do such things as half price or buy one get one free drinks at happy hour. A few bars (and swamp youth knew every one of ‘em) would continue that into the night if you were already drinkin’ there at happy hour. Fun times. Large hangovers. I’d do it all again!

I know how difficult these things are. I’m wishing the best outcome possible for Ophelia. I’m sending her gentle scritches.

My favorite was always Mr. Whitekeys’ Fly-By-Nightclub in Anchorage. They had an ad campaign offering 3 for the price of 1 drinks - “That’s not a Happy Hour, that’s a Hysterical Hour!” and “Just what sophisticated young Anchorage needs - a cheap drunk in the afternoon!”

Yay! Congratulations on your continued success.

Dude! I love jazz. Like you, I’m a singer, but it’s been years since I performed anywhere than the house or my car.

I hope it helps. Good PT is a lifesaver.

Has he tried driving lessons with a school/teacher instead of you? Sometimes a stranger gets through better than family.

Honestly, it sounds like heaven. I’m tempted to try to buy in.

Thank you for the birthday wishes all!

Our MMP family is growing! Welcome everyone. :tada:

We’re getting free sky water, which is lovely. Fingers crossed we’ll get some more.

The turkey is in the oven. I use roasting bags, so it should be done in about three hours.

My wife called me from the Apple store. They have to wait on Apple to do whatever they have to do, and told her to come back. In nine days. That’s an awfully long time for a password reset!

Hi all! I haven’t wanted to get sucked into wasting hours online while Mom is here, so I haven’t plugged my desktop back in, its tablet only for a while. I’ve been keeping up with everyones busyness, tho.

We’ve done some stuff and did some local sightseeing, but mostly we are just hanging out. VBC is thrilled to have mom here, mom gives earrubs, laps, naps and treats. We always check Mom’s luggage when she leaves to be sure she doesnt have a stowaway.

Fingers crossed for Ophelia, it is always hard to let them go.

Welcome, godbod!

(Nothin’ wrong with WARFRAME, nellie, except that I’d never be able to remember it… )

When I ordered my new Kindle last week, I also got a couple of practical things: a new shower curtain (I use a cheap plastic one: every now and then it gets too yucky to clean and just needs to be replaced) and a new handheld shower head (the old one’s selector mechanism was barely working anymore). I installed both yesterday afternoon, after the cleaning ladies left. This morning’s shower – with a clean tub, new curtain, and new shower head – was sooo nice! The selector mechanism on the new shower head is greatly improved: instead of being a plastic ring that rotates around the head, it’s just a button that toggles through the options. Much easier. It really is the little things.

Sometime soon I need to go to the grocery store (and put gas in the car). I used the last of the bread at lunch, after dinner I’ll finish the granola bites, and I don’t have any more fruit…those (and popcorn) are my main food groups at the moment! I went to therapy this morning, and don’t feel like going out again today; maybe I’ll play a little hooky tomorrow afternoon and take care of both errands. (I didn’t have time after therapy; I had to get back home for a meeting.)

Last night’s dinner wound up being chicken tikka masala in some naan (a Naanwich!), not pizza. I think tonight’s dinner might also be poultry: chicken fries, this time. That’s if I remember to preheat the oven before I finish working…I think I’ll go turn it on right now, because some chicken fries and a side of corn is sounding pretty good to me!

Ugh… :crossed_fingers: :people_hugging:

boofae Skritches for Ophelia. And {{{}}}

Waiting for the guest to arrive. Muffins have been made, walk walked–SOMEbody thought every chunk of snow falling off a tree was a squirrel and kept freezing in Lemme At 'Em mode–and Welcome sign made and posted. I shall start slicing and chopping soon–onions and 'shrooms, not squirrels.

I think godbod is a great name. I mean, who wouldn’t be flattered to be told they’re a godbod? And I was concerned I wouldn’t remember…what was the name I came up with again?

Whoops! Dogkin thinks company is here!

{{{BooFae, Ophelia and 'im indoors}}}

Sending good vibes for hubs’ surgery tomorrow wordy.

Hope that you get good weather Saturday Mooooooom.

Welcome aboard godbod.

Farted around in the studio for a good chunk of the day and binge watched Without a Trace. I did get purtified and went to the CU to get my new debit card. They said that one had been mailed two weeks ago, but it hasn’t made the 58 mile trip from Tullahoma to my town yet. They canceled the mailed one and printed a new one at the branch. That means that my card number has changed now and I’ll spend the next six months entering the new one for online bills and purchases.

I did go to the 'Boro after and picked up a few things at the outlet grocery. I had junk (pizza rolls, corn nuts and frozen yogurt) for supper and am now getting ready to start addressing holiday cards.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

I fear the worst. I had an Iberian Martini to compensate.

And welcome, godbod!

Aww, I’m really flattered by the warm welcome messages.

Five o’clock, and we finished Thanksgiving dinner about 20 minutes ago. Mrs. L.A. seemed to like it very much.

Howdy again, Y’all! OYKW is abed but I am not ready to go sleepy yet. However, it won’t be too long before I am.

wordy hope all goes well with hubby’s surgery tomorrow and good luck on the SAT to overlyboy.

Flyboy glad the wife enjoyed the Turkey Day feast.

red you do sloth real good!

Nettie enjoy the company. I am sure Dogkin will assist in hostessin’ duties by makin’ all feel welcome.

Oopsie I go with cheap plastic liners for the shower with a fancier curtain for show. I like my shower pretentious.

Mental image of Swampington in the shower all lathered up, sporting a monocle…

Reading myself to sleep. zzzzzzzzz
