There are times when I want to catch up to clueless idiots and bitch slap them. Those mindless maroons make the rest of us look bad. I especially hates the idiots who have to REV their bikes when they are sitting at a light with their feet on the ground. Assholes, all of them.
I’m not talking about the gentle revving some of us do because we don’t want to put our feet down, I’m talking about the LOUD FUCKING REDLINE THE TACH JUST TO MAKE NOISE assholes.
Sorry, I guess I’m still grumbly because of what happened at adoptions today. When the PetBox employees came to open they found a box with a very pregnant and very distressed queen inside. No food, no water, no blankets, not even an old warn out towel. Just a very confused and frightened cat in labor.
They put the poor queen into one of our cages and when we got there 2 hours later, a couple of them were cuddling the new born kittens.
I know that the crew are just teenagers. I know that new born kittens are as cute as can be. I appreciate that they had the smarts to use our bedding for the birthing. They did everything as right as they knew how to do, but when I saw them passing the kittens around I almost lost my shit.
One of the neighbor’s bushes was apparently spreading flower petals on her lawn. I continue to have no idea why someone moves to a house with a large yard and then acts as if nature is the enemy. My own yard is unruly at best. I am grateful when it occasionally agrees to a truce.
That’s probably because you are smarter than I am.
Mama and kittens are at the vet’s office right now. They will get tested sometime this weekend. If the fucking irresponsible asshole who did this has dumped an infected cat, mama and kittens will be euthed and all of us who now have an emotional connection to them will be heart hurt.
Stops with that.
I bought some beautiful gold thread for a needlework project, and it feels wonderful and smooth in my hands. I know to stitch up and down when I’m using metallics, but this stuff kinks and snarls as soon as I touch it.
I only bought it because the designer told me to. I’m so frustrated, I can’t get the fibers to lay smooth.
Go to your needlework shop and buy some stainfree hand lotion - I don’t remember the brand name of the stuff my store sells. VERY lightly put some on your fingers and run the thread through your fingertips. Lightly wetting the thread should also work. I would also strongly recommend to sew using half the length you usually do. When I use Krenik and the like, I never use more than 18" at a time.
People who eat entire pizzas on the bus when I’m hungry can go to hell.
Also, multiple people who bring McDonald’s food on the bus and then sit at different places in the bus, so that the stench permeates the whole bus, can go pleasure themselves in the posterior.
Yeah, it wasn’t a pleasant bus ride.
Why Montreal can’t follow the lead of other cities such as Halifax, Vancouver, and NYC, and ban eating on the bus, I don’t know.
Huh. Guess we were lucky in that factory where the cat had kittens, as she was perfectly happy to use the nest the guys prepared for her and to let her kittens be handled. We always made sure that she was ok with it, but it never occurred to us that it might not be ok so long as she didn’t seem to mind. Now I kind of feel like I should go find her and apologize, but also like she’d look at me with this “now what is the stupid human going on about? And where are my scritches?” expression. I guess it’s going to be different when the cat doesn’t know every human around as a source of scritches.
Why in the fuck did Microsoft remove the Windows 7 backup recovery feature from Windows 8.1??? Apparently I was supposed to use a feature called Windows Easy Transfer instead. Wish I had that information before my computer crashed…stupid me, I had been relying on the backup feature for file backup. (Fortunately for me, I had also dumped copies of all my files to an external drive when I realized a failure was inevitable…no file losses here.)
What a wonderful hint. I know to use water to make cotton/linen threads lay flat, I never thought about lotion. I think its not me, its the thread. Its gold coiled around supporting thread. I think this thread is made for surface work, not up and down stitching. I changed thread and am now happy again.
I could type a very long screed about why its not a good idea to handle new born babies, but I won’t. The mama and kittens will probably be just fine. I’m glad your factory cats were all good. Some cats are NOT good with random strangers handling their kittens, and some kittens are NOT good with getting exposed to diseases until their immune systems are better developed.
I know that I usually know more about cats than most people. This is probably the first time those kids actually saw a live birth, they did really good. I didn’t yell or anything, I just took a deep breath and told them that they should put the kittens back because the mama was worried.
And…the mama passed her bloodwork so they will all go to a foster home until the kittens can be fixed.
Yes, my day has gotten much better
Besides, my husband is flying home tonight and I plan to meet him wearing my new limo driver hat, high heels and a black leather trench coat. Oh and my glasses, I’d hate to pick up the wrong guy.
I’m torn between making a joke about, “Is that all you’ll be wearing?” and making a joke about, “Whooeee! He’s in for a sexxay surprise!” because that’s all you’ll be wearing.
Damn you IRS! Why must you reject my tax return every freaking year? My son’s SSN has been fixed, but it’s still complaining. And now I don’t have the correct E-file PIN from last year and when I try to get a new one, their site says they can’t help me and that I must be a first time tax-filer!
I’m also wearing my “signature” perfume. Its a mix I get from a Renn Faire perfumer. Tube rose with a little evergreen and just a hint of 50 weight motor oil. Men love it. If I’m going out with the club, I will spray a little Hoppes in the air and walk through it.
Now that I’m sitting at the airport waiting, waiting, waiting…I wants to pit the weather.
I’m hand sewing seams on a sail this week because the previous owner was a dumb-ass and used cotton thread on a Dacron sail. It’s rotting out as fast as I can sew. My fingers are already sore and I’m just waiting to drive a 3 inch needle into my palm.
I would assume, based on the fact that Kelevra mentions it’s a sail and that there’s a three inch needle involved, he or she (sorry - I don’t remember) probably would need an industrial type sewing machine. But I could be wrong. I usually am.
I’m with you there. That ‘File History’ thing is a joke. I haven’t been able to get it to work with any external drive. Now I just use the software that came with the drive.
