Not “eBay” or “youTube”, but some interesting applications.
For example. . .things that I’m enjoying:
google spreadsheets. I’ve been using it with friends to keep track of gambling we do against each other. We can both edit it from work or home. I’ve also been tracking my commute times. I can edit it once when I get to work, and then edit it when I get home. Sweet.
my.traffic.com. Before my ride home each day, it sends me a report of my “jam factor” along each of my possible routes. When you add it all up, it has, without a doubt, saved hours of commute time for me this year.
Also, I’ve returned to google home page. When it started it was sort of klunky, but now it’s nice. For instance, I have a “blog tab” set up that is all the blogs I’ve ever been interested in. I can check the blog headlines without actually having to go to the blogs themselves. If I see something I like, I’m there. Their portfolio and finance information used to be worse than yahoo’s, but now it is better. Managing what you want on your page, and where you want it dominates the way you handle it at yahoo.
Essentially, I find that accessing the same information whether from work, or home, or vacation is something that has become crucial.
