Midget chawklit is a big thing to be thankful for. Happy Canadian Turkey Day!
Nuts IMO one chestnut would be too many. Not a fan at all.
Sari sometimes I do this and sometimes I don’t. The beast stew is a chuck roast chunked up with N.O.T., carrots, onions and parsnips. I like parsnips in beast stew. We’ll have baked chikin one night and the rest will become chikin sallit which we both really like. The ham, cause, hey, ham! Like Spaz I also have some collard greens cooked to eat this week. Anywho, da cave smells nummylicious right now.
Just got back from lunch/dinner with Irish Storyteller at Olive Garden. We made plans to meet up again in a couple of weeks for the Rifftrax of Night of the Living Dead.
I’ve finally told someone irl that I’ve converted. He thought it was cool. I figured he would, which is why he’s the one I told. (By the way, I changed religions a couple of weeks ago. It was bound to happen anyway.)
It’s trying to rain outside, so I’m going to listen to Per Gessle* and drink coffee. Now that’s a plan for the afternoon!
*That song always makes me think of Irish Dad. He is in truth an old hippie. Sir.
small ricotta cheese (16oz) = $2.99
large ricotta cheese (32oz) = $2.88
I know it’s on sale, but it’s less than ½ the size.
Therefore, both baked ziti & lasagna are in the oven right now. Methinks ziti for dinner & lasagna for freezer but we’ll see.
Spidey yum! Now I want baked ziti and lasagna. Maybe that’ll be my next marathon cookin’ session.
Da cave is so full of yummy smells right now! Everything is done. The beast stew is in containers and coolin’ down a bit before bein’ refrigerated/frozen. Ham has been sliced, chikin has cooled down and refrigerated, collards are refrigerated. The kitchen is cleanded up even thanks to OYKW. So, what did we eat for dindin? PBJs and milk.
What is the basis for Canadian Thanksgiving?
In the United States, it is because the Indians saved the Pilgrims from starving, much to the former’s regret.
Hell, the Dakota Sioux fled to Canada to get away from the US Army.
Canadian Thanksgiving - umm, it’s the harvest, and giving thanks. Or an excuse to eat turkey and have some time off work/school. I’m using it to work on crafts and stuff.
Looks like I’m playing the part of the exotic foreigner here in the MMP.
Pork roast and mashed N.O.T. for dinner, our house smells nummy too. I don’t know what else we had because Sah-son just put some pork and potatoes on a plate and brought it to me, as I was irking and on a call.
The nice thing about mashed N.O.T. is I can eat those while I am on the phone as long as I take small bites.
The sun poked his head out for a bit earlier this evening, kind of surprised me to see some light coming through my bedroom window. Now of course it is dark outside.
The sleepies are catching up to me, I only got 5 hours sleep Friday night on only about 3 last night.
I never did fall back asleep, now I am feeling it.
YUM baked ziti and lasagna.
One day I am going to have my own kitchen again and make some food.
**sari **- I saw a wee bit of sunshine before all went dark. It appears the rain is done for a while. Yay!!
**FCD **is waiting for Washington at Dallas. I’m going to crawl into bed early - I’s tahred and I don’t really care about football. I’ll watch a little Netflix till I fall asleep.
I’ve begun researching mattresses. Ours is 16 years old and part of it now reeks of cat pee, so it’s time to replace it. We need to pick a day and go store-to-store to see if we can find one we both like. Another alternative is an OK mattress with our choices of topper pads. We’re in agreement that we don’t want a Sleep Number, so that’s a good start. I saw one site that boasted “hotel quality” king sets for $59 per piece. I bet them’s some great beds…
And that how my weekend ends. Back for fun and games with my alleged coworker. My current goal is to make it till Christmas. We shall see…
