What are the sexiest songs?

The Girl From Ipanema

I will second More Than This- makes me scream every time I hear it (hellish at the dentist office) just kidding…no screaming, but squuueeeeeee for sure!!

Lovin, touchin, squeezin…to go with my squuueeeeeeeee

Chefguy is right about this song. Try this live version instead.

Anybody who grew up lusting after chesty earth mother hippie chicks maintains a warm spot in his heart for Ms. Muldaur.

Her version of “Santa Baby” runs a very close second to Eartha Kitt’s!

She did a lot of what could be called ‘risque’ songs in her day. Sort of a pornographic lounge singer who suddenly found herself with a hit. The great guitar work on the piece doesn’t hurt.

Leonard Cohen’s songs tend to be like that. Try Dance Me to the End of Love, for just one other.

She did great things with the Jim Kweskin Jug Band in the mid-60s, and gigged around the San Francisco area with the Jerry Garcia Band in the summer of 1978.

I’m kinda glad I missed that (being 17 and in Cleveland). The combination of Jerry’s guitar and Maria’s presence would have left me with an hours-long and painful erection.

Oh, yes.

That just became my second favorite version, after Mizz Eartha.

Donna Summers has this topic nailed, particularly with the long version, 17 orgasmic minutes, of Love To Love You Baby.

Music doesn’t get any more erotic than this.

Raw sexy primal soul blues:
Maimouna Youssef - Black Magic Woman Leave Me Alone

Random lyrics:
If you listen on nights the moon is full you’ll hear them moaning, groaning, Screaming black magic woman leave me alone!
I can’t sleep when I’m with you, I can’t breathe when your away,
I quiver at your touch, you’ve got me crawling in the mud,
Must be hooodooo jooodooo black magic love.

Squeezebox by the Who…

Also Prince’s Girls & Boys.

Usually, hearing French words in an English song in an attempt to sound sexy strikes me as trying too hard and always falls completely flat. For instance, the French sentence in Labelle’s Lady Marmalade is totally clumsy and unnatural and is thus more likely to make me laugh than anything else.

Girls & Boys is an exception, though.

The Telephone Man.

“Miracles” by Jefferson Starship. I was never a big Jeff Airplane/Starship fan, but man something about that song whenever it came on the radio…

The sexiest song I know is Come Undone from Duran Duran.

Fever by Peggy Lee
Autrefois by Pink Martini
Take Me Higher by Mellow
Je t’aime…moi non plus by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg
Nasty Naughty Boy by Christina Aguilera
Cream by Prince
Closer by NIN

Tired of Being Alone - Al Green

Or, for that matter, almost anything by Al Green

For years I thought the guitar solo on this song was by Mark Knopfler, but no, it’s by Amos Garrett. One of the best guitar solos ever laid down on a pop song, ever.
The only consensus I see in the listing of sexy songs is that everyone’s got a different idea of what makes a sexy song. Piece of My Heart? Screeching nails-on-a-blackboard vocals over a band that was not capable of tuning their instruments? Takes me right out of the mood. As for me, any album by Thievery Corporation is the perfect accompaniment for love-making. The single best individual song though would have to be Business Time by Flight of the Conchords.

“Like a Prayer”. And those three songs with the bullfighter videos.
Lots of Karen Carpenter’s songs. If you were a white male suburban kid, that voice pushed all of your buttons.

In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel.
