When you go to any SD message board, what are the icons in the two left-most columns? Maybe I missed something, but I don’t see their purpose. One symbol is an envelope which can be orange or yellow. I believe a blue “?” is the heading for this column. Next to this, there may (or may not) appear a “down arrow”. (When does it appear?)
What the heck is this all trying to tell me?
Sorry if I should know the answer to this, but someone dropped a banana peel…and it must have just slipped my mind!
The arrow, in theory, takes you directly to the first post in that thread which our records indicate you’ve not read. (We know all kinds of shit about you, when and what you’ve searched on, the links every thread you’ve clicked and even which way your TP hangs off the roll.) You should only ever see a down arrow next to an orange envelope, never a grey one. It doesn’t seem to work consistently though.
The ? that you refer to is for the Announcements row. It is a question mark if you have read the announcement, and an ! if there is a new announcement that you have not read…I think.
