What’s funny is way back in the dark ages, I heard that someone I went to high school with took out a personal ad in his then city paper offering to sell his vote in the 1992 presidential election. The Feds didn’t think it was funny, and IIRC he was charged and given probation. I ran into him years later at a bar, asked him about it, and bought him a drink for doing what I considered at the time to be one of the most punk rock things I’d ever heard.
