What are you paying for gas?

Today at a Shell station in Seattle I paid $2.73 for regular.

Last week I saw premium at $3.13.

Still less than a gallon of milk.

When I moved to Las Vegas in 1999, the local gas station had regular at 99 cents per gallon.

Today it is $2.64 per gallon.

Luckily, my little Saturn SC2 is pretty good with mileage, so I only use a half a tank per week to get to work and back. About a half tank today was $14.95 exactly. And to think I used to get a full tank for $10.00.

$2.61 to $2.67 in Gainesville, FL.

The equivalent of $3.42 a gallon.

So quityerbitching!

And me? I am actually currently an unemployed college student, actually, so I have no where to work. But I will be an employed college student in a couple weeks, with a job to either walk to or ride my bike to. I do need to buy gas every so often in the summer, though, and it’s been hovering around $2.85 out here.

Hey lieu - 350 million is a drop in the bucket compared to the enormous profits that oil and gas companies are making annually. I weep not for them, but for the consumer who is undoubtedly shouldering the burden. Honestly, would it hurt ExxonMobil to eat that cost? Well, no, but they would catch shit from their stockholders. Oh oil! Must you be so slippery and hard to dig out of the ground?
[sub]Look, I just answered my own question![/sub]

$2.55/gal. seems to be the norm here. Sheetz is usually lower, but not recently. I found out Sam’s Club is around $2.46, so I might have to start going there. It’s a little out of the way, but if I’m that way next time I’m getting low, I’ll be getting the Ranger a “cheap” fill.

On the way to work one day last week - The price at our local station was $2.34/gal.

On the way home the same day - The price at the same station was $2.49/gal

I paid 2.45 a day or two ago here in middle TN. We seem to have cheaper gas than most, which makes me feel a tiny bit better.

Here in the Netherlands a liter of Euro95 (that’s the regular gasoline here) costs 1.43 Euros. That works out to US$ 6.66 per gallon.

Yeah, I really pity you Americans and your high fuel prices.

$2.77 for the cheap stuff with a 40 gallon tank means $110 for the next fill up.
YAY!!!
What do I win?

$2.79 is the cheapest I could find in the Bronx. $48 dollar fill ups last me about a week and a half. Most gas stations here are ranging from $2.83 (econo) to 3.23 (premium) about .61 per gallon (around $11 per tank) is various taxes:

I have no idea what the percentage of independent store ownership is. A quick Google shows it would take a while to determine, but the news reports I’ve seen and the persons I’m concerned for are the independent retailers. They’re the ones lamenting the theft on the 6:00 news, which USA Today says amounts to $2141 per store anually. I’d be more than a tad surprised if the Majors reimburse them for their loss.

$1.059 Canadian per litre, which is $3.34 US per gallon if my Google-fu is working.

And I should’ve said it in my first post, but I have to again compliment Google on their awesomeness.

I type: 1.059 Canadian dollars per litre in USD per gallon
Google says: 1.05900 (Canadian dollars per litre) = 3.33812312 U.S. dollars per US gallon

Oops, that was last year’s number, twice what they lost in 2003 and less than what they’re losing this. As mentioned in the article, one 88 store retailer says this year drive-offs are up 100%.
Here in Houston and near Dolores’ numbers, yesterday I saw $2.53 for regular and 2.74 for premium (93) although recently I remember seein a 30 cent difference between the two.

Yup. Same city…

Yes, that google calculator is awesome. It knows about imperial gallons too… and I like how in your example, borshcevsky, it knew to use US gallons when you didn’t specify which…

Hmm. Looks like US gallons are the default.

Yesterday I paid $2.799 per gallon. I fill up about twice each week. I drive a lot, for business.

(North Hollywood, suburb of Los Angeles)

$2.45 per gal. for regular, cheapest in town. Still, about $40. to fill the tank.
