What are you saving up to buy?

At the moment, I’m saving up to buy a nice digital camera.

I sell on eBay and currently use my boyfriend’s digital, but I’d like to have a camera handy. My boyfriend is chipping in about $400 as a present, but I’m trying to save as well. So far, the cameras in the running are:

Kodak DC215
Kodak DC3800
Olympus Camedia D-370
Fuji Finepix 2600
Nikon Coolpix 775

So what are you saving up to buy?

I’m saving up to buy a laptop. I don’t know why I want one so bad, but I do. I just got a new desktop computer a few months ago, but I am really wanting a laptop. That and a motorhome, I would love to go travelling with my laptop and motorhome, that way I can bring my dogs with.

I’m saving up for my trip to Disneyland. One week and 5 days! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! excited happy dance

I actually have a list at the moment.

  1. new Badminton racquet
  2. Prescriptives - Flirt perfume
    (bigger things I’m saving for)
  3. House extension
  4. Sliding wardrobe doors. The only thing worse than having a messy wardrobe is having to look at it every time you go into the bedroom

Freedom from debt.

Law School! Also, so I never have to live with my parents again, EVER.

But, more immediately, a bus ticket down to NYC to visit a friend, and an opera ticket at the met

I’m also saving for a digital camera (plus an underwater housing)

  1. Trip to Glasgow, Scotland.
  2. Probable trip to Tokyo.
  3. Eventual return to Australia.

The DC215 is nice, IMHO–especially since I won mine in a sweepstakes. It was worth about $400 at the time, in 2000.
I am saving for a Visioneer one touch scanner, or something similar, that is compatible with Win XP.
Also saving to buy another Sentry fire safe.
And a repair job to fix the chronic main engine seal leak in my car. The labor will, of course ,cost more than the dang seal.
:frowning:

I am saving to buy a scanner, a new digital camera and a color laser printer (in that order).

For the non-geek related stuff, I am also saving up to buy a garden shed so I get my car back into the garage and enough to pay a landscape gardener/designer to come and look at the backyard. It’s nothing but grass and pool and is tooooo boring.

I’m saving for:

DVD Player
DVD’s to put in DVD Player (preferable Buffy related)
Weekend away with Leechboy at a 5 star hotel with roomservice

A motorcycle and a puppy.

For the long term: A Canon XL1S MiniDV Video Camera.

For the short term: Furniture for a new apartment: Everything from couch to table to matress. And I need it by August.

I am saving to buy a world trip, staying mainly in Australia for most of the time. I plan to go in October and I can’t wait!!

I’m saving for a Yamaha DX1 synth. The only problem will be finding one.

A Hughes TH-55, Schweizer 300CB or Robinson R-22 helicopter
A Cessna 172 airplane
A house to rent out
A house to live in

Helicopter? Insurance is the killer.
Airplane? It’s been years since I’ve flown a fixed-wing.
Rental house? Home? It’s hard to find one when you’re 1,200 miles away from where you want to buy one!

Rather unambitiously - I’ll save for more RAM for the computer! A computer that believes it only has 28 meg is , um, just a bit sad!
(Although saving up for next 'phone or electricity bill is just as likely!)

A chemistry course, and a plane ticket home from school at Christmas time.

I need and SHOULD be saving for:

  1. A new(er) car.
  2. Painting the house
  3. New rugs

But since I can survive without them, I keep putting it off…

You could save up for your own plane and fly yourself home. I know where there’s a Cessna for sale in Chilliwack.
