What recently have you not been able to afford, but got the notion stuck in your head that you HAD to have one? And bought one (or more).

For me, its this .

That’s pretty cool. I live in the boonies, and I can usually see my destination miles ahead of arrival, or I’d be tempted.

For me it’s the DVD of Deadwood’s second season. I can’t really afford it right now, and the eps are all TiVo’d, but I gotta have it.

Fender Jazzmaster Ultralight guitar amp and cabinet. Not that I “couldn’t afford” it, but since I don’t gig and the thing is too powerful to use as a practice amp (my regular practice amp is a 15 watt Marshall), it was a fairly large expenditure for something I don’t have a lot of use for at the moment. Got a great deal on it, though.

This.

And this.

And this.

And this, and this and this and this and this.

But I’m not impulsive!!

An Ishapore 2A1 rifle- it’s basically a 7.62x51 NATO version of the SMLE Mk III*.

Whilst I have a couple of .303 rifles, the price on the ammunition fluctuates all the time depending on when shipments arrive, and one day it’s going to get too expensive to afford.

Fortunately, 7.62x51 NATO ammunition is plentiful in supply, and as an alternative, I can fire commercial .308 Winchester through it.

I really didn’t have the money (or rather, there were other things that I could have spent it on that would have been more “useful” in the short term), but I wanted to think ahead and grab one while they were still in stock- which was just as well, because a shooting friend of mine has been trying to get one, but the dealer is out of stock, he tells me…

One of the new Macbooks.

I suppose I can afford it. I just can’t justify buying another computer. The ones I have work fine!

I have decided that I will wait a few weeks and see if I can get one refurbished for a bit less. And if I can’t, I’ll just buy one anyway. That’ll show 'em.

http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/axim_x51v?c=ca&l=en&s=bsd&cs=CABSDT1This (because someone gave me an HP PPC and I fell in love with PPCs over my trusty Palm) and this (silver & black, 'cos my v551 just wasn’t pretty enough) most recently.

I’m bad like that. As soon as I see something that really strikes my fancy I gotta get it, and I’ll usually find a way to get it, which more often than not involves spending money I shouldn’t by any means be spending on non-essentials.

I really, really have to stop looking around on e-bay. I found one of my team’s game-worn jerseys on there for $150. They usually start at $200 at the auctions. So with shipping I got it for a bit less than $157. Like I really needed another one…

This, but not that pretty.

This or something like it. Not even looking really because that will make me want it more, and I don’t see being able to afford one anytime soon.

I just got this “for the kids”. Along with a couple of remote controllers, memory and games.

I’m on the cusp of getting this. I’m resisting walking into the dealership because I’m a father of two and really shouldn’t risk leaving them fatherless.

I got this last year in October. I had been itching to get one for awhile and found a great deal on ebay… about $100 less than I could have gotten it new from the bike shop.

A corset. The old-fashioned kind. I settled for some elasticized, plastic-boned, step-in thingamajig from Victoria’s Secret.
I’m nineteen - too old for the novelty and surely too young to actually need one. Maybe I should rethink my spending habits.

I just had to have a Roomba.

It’s partially the fault of this very board for putting the idea in my head in the first place. After some research and comparison shopping, I found a store selling them for $100 off regular price!

Needless to say, I grabbed it. Each and every day so far Roomba can be seen zooming around one floor or another. Since we have a three story house and 2 cats, he is very busy. It’s pretty funny watching my kitty stalk Roomba until it turns around and chases him away.

This funny-lookin’ bundle of oddness and utility. It, Will. Be. Mine!

I was going to rent this for a trip I just took, but for what it costs to rent it a couple times, you’re half way to buying to it, so I broke down & bought the damn thing.
It took very good pictures of whalesharks. And reef sharks. And Lionfish. And sea snakes. And Moray eels. And crocodiles (I didn’t spend *all * my time underwater…).

We have been very bad monkeys.

Let’s see if I can remember them in order, starting with the most recent.

An entire heaping cartfull of random stuff at Costco last night, including a huge cooler, enough paper towels for the next 5 years, and enough cashews to feed a small village.

How about a Flamethrower?
