What are your all time favorite candies?

Had to look it up, but it was 1990. Apparently they tried to revive Marathon as the brand name a few years ago but it didn’t stick, so Snickers it is.

Some people of a certain generation (me included) still find it hard to get used to “Snickers” though, and I’ll still ask for a Marathon on occasion.

Woo hoo! Woo hoo! My daughter just brought home a two pound box of Belgian chocolates! I’m a happy man! :o

Speaking of See’s, Butterscotch Squares. Mayfairs are good, too.

In more general distribution, white chocolate peppermint M&Ms (currently indulging), and the lamentably discontinued Snickers Cruncher.

Butterscotch discs are my favorite hard candy. Baby Ruth is my favorite candy bar.

close second would be peppermint discs and a Payday candy bar.

btw, what are Baby Ruths called in Europe and Australia? are they available over there?

Anything with nuts, chocolate coated nuts, is my very favorite. Pistachios, almonds, cashews, walnuts… Nutty Kind Bars call out to me at the checkout… peanut butter cups, especially the Christmas tree ones, they are less sweet than the cups. Oh, and sesame crunch, toasted sesame seeds in a brittle honey base, and the sesame nut crunch, which is even better.

Divinity (homemade variety). Mom always called it ‘sea foam’. And made it in different colors.

Merrimints

Atomic fireballs

Chicken Dinner candy bar

Maple Bun bar

Mallow cup

Reese’s peanut butter cup

Starburst–cherry and strawberry

Strawberry Twizzlers

How could I forget them? :smack: They used to sell them in boxes of 40, and I could eat the whole damn thing in one sitting.

Peanut M&Ms, I can eat a bag in one sitting, which is why I rarely buy them. Also, Necco wafers. Even the licorice ones are edible, and I really don’t like licorice.

Hageland dark chocolate pear and almonds I wrote the company, and they grow their own pears and almonds and process them on site! They do not use peanuts. So no chance of peanut cross contamination.

Licorice bridge mix

Bob’s Sweet Stripes

I like the peppermint M&Ms too but I still prefer the chocolate-mint M&Ms. Also, for some strange reason, I liked the Candy Corn M&Ms (which were actually white chocolate M&Ms) that were out before Halloween.

Another seasonal favorite that I notice is already hitting the stores are Cadbury Mini Eggs. The milk chocolate Mini Eggs are like crack; the dark chocolate Mini Eggs are crack and heroin.

Those too!

M&Ms till gums hurt.

I love Good & Plenty. I swear the black licorice that’s in it is much better than standard black licorice candy.

I only get it in the bag, though. The Good & Plenty in boxes is usually dried up.

Zero bars! Love them.

Almond Snickers, cinnamon Mentos, chocolate covered cashews also rank highly.

I guess I’d have to say Atomic Fireballs. I was left the house in a near blizzard one time to get to the store due to a severe craving.

Regal Crown sours were mentioned. I still look for them. Loved the sour cherry.

I found out the hard way that those powdered acid candies can actually harm your teeth, (they started to be sensitive-I loked it up and yeah, that stuff can totally tear up you enamel) so I tried keeping them in the center of my tongue, which actually caused my tongue to bleed. Not flowing blood, but I basically burned the center of my tongue and burned off the outer layers down to the bloody level. I stopped eating them.

You can do a rough approximation of the centers by making brown sugar fudge, aka penuche…basically brown sugar, cream and butter cooked to the right temp and beaten.

See’s Bordeaux are basically whipped b. Squares…
For me, all candy gets in line behind Reeses, and I think the multiple permutations prove that a decidedly large segment of the public agrees.

My preference is miniatures, also a fan of Sticks and when I am feeling particularly decadent,** Fast Break**, which is essentially Reeses plus the nougat part of Snickers…insane.

Do you actually enjoy the shell? I always found it annoying…

Yep:
