I made a list of all my favorite love songs that didn’t involve breaking up, unrequited love, or loving so much it hurt. It was still pretty long, so I weeded out all the ones with even a modest twinge of longing, as that adds a bit too much poignancy to really be considered a happy love song (even if they weren’t sad either). That left me with just a few:

I didn’t realize there was a recent song titled “Hallelujah”. So I was wondering why the Ray Charles song didn’t qualify as a happy love song.
