MadPansy64 and Gala Matrix Fire, thnaks!
Bell, if you’re looking in…why only the one hyphen? Two or none, I can understand, but why just one?
Well, originally I was going to simply put spaces between the rung and the shut, but I was one character shy of being able to do that. Then I realized that in my head I was reading the series with a mental pause before the last action, giving it a bit more weight. So while I know that in order to signify a pause, I should really have a dash (ie 2 hyphens), I was again one character short. I figured I’d get the reading of it across anyway.
So it turned out to be “Ya ring the bell, ya close that book-- and then you put out those there candles.”
I can’t tell you how many damn tries it took me to get the stupid order right in Zork. Damn laughing souls, always makin’ fun of me.
I’ve gotten a giggle or two from Happy Scrappy Hero Pup. My kids didn’t understand last week when I was cracking up more than usual while watching that scene in ‘Clerks’.
Freudian Slit is hysterical.
But from AOL years ago was my favorite name of all time: YesOuiSi. Genuis.
Gah, how could I have forgotten RuedeDay? Hysterical name, Hysterical posts.
I get a kick out of every time that Ivylass refers to her husband as Ivylad, and her kids as Ivyboy and Ivygirl. I know, those aren’t usernames, per se, but I love the way people will incorporate their name when referring to the family.
Similarly, MouseMaven (who I haven’t seen around here since she had a “mouseling”) referred to her husband as MouseSpouse. I laugh every time I think of that.
Love Interrobang?! I also like well he’s back. I like names that capture a feeling! (Go You Big Red Fire Engine is on that list too)
Back in my lurker days ( cause just over 200 posts in 2 years isn’t a lurker ) there was a poster who always made me laugh. SILENT BOB - as far as I can remember he only ever posted in smiles, never actually posted a single word, but hot damn did a lot of expression come out in that.
Hah! Only one such un-“archived” thread still exists with his presence: Your Patron Saint Designation by . . . Swimming Riddles
Post #222 (hint: look for post #180) & post #229
I’m thinking of doing this now. (not here, no worries mate)

Yay, I got a name check! Score one for the shameless attention whore (even if it was misspelled).
Unauthorisedcinnamon is my favourite name, if only because it amuses me to think about what process one would go through to authorise a spice.
Heffalumpandroo and Iamthewalruss(:3= always bring a smile to my face too. I also like Helen’s Eidolon, don’t ask me why though.
It’s not a great username, but it is one that gives me pause.
Everytime I see a post from **11011000110 **( or is t 101010111, or 001110101, or 101010101… I give up) I wonder if he ever has to write down his username every time he wants to login in. I mean, I’m a jumbled set of letters and a number, but he’s just chaos in numbers. Chaos I tell you.
Also, it might be easier if his username was the same as his password. At least he repetition would make it easier to remember.
Hell no I ain’t trying. I can’t even remember his name in the first place.
Also, I’m thinking of asking the great admins in the sky for a new name again as well. bbs2k is a nice abbreviation, but people are starting to forget that it used to belong to the member formerly known as bigbugssting2kill. I’m warming up to an affectionate nickname that I’ve been given.
Many, many times I have plotted to to steal names of **The New Improved Superman ** and Mirror Image egami rorriM.
His name is 666 in Binary (1010011010). That simple for us computer geeks, I caught it as quick as Der Trihs being Red Shirt backwards. (Trek Reference from the Kirk years)
oh…
(not a binary geek)
Though I did catch the red shirt thing, being a geek geek.
I like Bosstone and Lisa-go-blind because they’re references to two of my favorite bands.
I like the Monty Python themed Dinsdale, Spiny Norman and Throatwarbler Mangrove (his name gets thrown around more than he knows!)
I laughed when I saw Nutty Bunny’s name because the Kids In The Hall sketch he’s (presumably) named after is hilarious.
Yes! Is it wrong that I opened this thread on the off chance some Metroid fan mentioned my name?
Because otherwise, my favorites are all ones people have picked already…

Exapno Mapcase
Although I don’t see Justin Credible mentioned yet, I like that one too.
You probably know already, but for anybody who doesn’t: The Grateful Dead are nowhere near the originators of the Stagger Lee story/song. I’m partial to Mississippi Jon Hurt’s version, myself.
Favorite username? They’ve all been nominated already. But I will say that I enjoy the mystery of cool gibberish-sounding names like Qadgop the Mercotan and Exapno Mapcase. (Like Slartyblartfast – what the hell does that mean?) Now that I know there are stories behind them I’m (only very slightly) less impressed.
I’m thinking of renaming myself soon, but I don’t even know how the process goes. Nothing witty has come up yet, but I’m starting to think I don’t deserve my Ph.D in Cubology anymore.
