what are your favorite TV shows

I mean the ones you like well enough to watch over and over, or enough to own.

I am enjoying “Grey’s Anatomy” on TV but don’t have any interest in seeing the epidodes again on the other hand I borrowed a copy of Firefly episodes and have had to order myself a copy because I want to see them again. I also own all of the Buffy TVS, and most of Angel. I just purchased the first season Stargate SG-1. I wanted to buy Twin Peaks but they want way too much money. Now I am thinking about Law and Order next. Joan of Arcadia maybe. Clearly I like quirky/funny shows but not really comedy shows.

The only show that fits the watch-over-and-over criteria for me is HBO’s Deadwood.

I liked Buffy, Angel, and Firefly enough to buy them, full price, but that’s about it for me.

  1. The Singing Detective
  2. Buffy
  3. NYPD Blue
  4. X Files
  5. Sopranos

Currently running:

  1. The Sopranos
  2. House
  3. Bones
  4. Heist
  5. Thief
  6. Medium
  7. 24
  8. Survivor
  9. The Unit
  10. The West Wing

and when they’re on:

  1. Deadwood
  2. Rome
  3. The Shield
  4. Big Brother

recently departed but favorites when they were on:

  1. Six Feet Under
  2. Carnivale

In order:

Firefly
Battlestar Galatica
Family Guy
24
The Colbert Report
South Park

South Park used to be higher, but it’s been off it’s ball lately and just not particulary funny.

24 used to be higher, but season 4 forever damaged it in my eyes. I can’t really enjoy it like I did in the first three seasons anymore, despite this season being pretty good.

  1. Firefly
  2. Buffy
  3. Arrested Development

I can’t see myself re-watching anything else. Some Angel episodes warrant multiple viewing. Season 4 is worth watching time and time again.

That’s about it.

Buffy, Angel, Arrested Development, Scrubs, The Office (both versions, although I prefer the U.S. version), Firefly, The Shield. As much as I enjoy 24, to me it has zero “re-watch” value.

Firefly
Babylon 5
Brimstone, if they’d release it.
Gargoyles, seasons 1 and 2, maybe. I’m still debating on this one.

I can’t think of any others, really.

The Sopranos
The West Wing
60 Minutes
Biography

Then some quality stuff like…

American Idol
Desparate Housewives
The Apprentice
Cold Pizza
Top Chef
The Soup
Best Week Ever
Web Junk
Chelsea Handler

Jeopardy!
Lost
Monk
House
Original Twilight Zone
Outer Limits
Anything travel-related (NOT poker, NOT hauntings, NOT cooking)

Lost, House, CSI, Monk, Dead Like Me, Rescue Me, Queer as Folk, Huff, Futurama, Firefly, The X-Files, Grey’s Anatomy, 24, Scrubs, Will and Grace, Smallville…
…I think I watch too much TV now. :dubious:

At times, I think I may have an addiction to tv, especially of the cheesy variety. However, it waxes and wanes.

Some shows that will forever be favs:
Six Feet Under
Sopranos
Angel
Buffy
House
Entourage (getting there)
90210 (laugh if you must)
Everwood
Coupling
Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (very good if you can get past him)

Shows I am either attached to or getting there:
Gilmore Girls
Without a Trace
One Tree Hill
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Queer as Folk
Footballers Wives

Shows I know are ridiculous but still get me sometimes:
Project Runway
OC (sinking)
Sex in the City
Top Chef

I forgot Scrubs. My wife and I plan on re-watching this over the summer before Season 6 starts.
