Haven’t seen that.
What are your plans for Saturday, the 4th of July (United Statesians only, for the most part, sorta)
Yup. I hadn’t realized that I’d planned to be out of the country for the 250th birthday bash… But I’m happy it worked out that way. And there’s no way i could have accidentally done that in 1976, the excitement and anticipation was everywhere.
I’ll probably have to work. I don’t know if we’ll have something on the grill, because my dad’s balance is lousy and he’s always been the one who grills.
Might go to a patriotic concert a few days in advance, or not ,(see balance, above).
I’ll be smoking a tri-tip (and finishing it be briefly searing it on the grill), and preparing a batch of pinquito beans and pico de gallo. Supposedly this is a traditional 4th of July meal in California (or at least the Santa Maria Valley).
My sons and I get done with BSA summer camp in Colorado that morning, so I think we’re going to be on the road to Amarillo (our overnight stop) with the scout troop most of the day. I think there are plans to see the fireworks somewhere around there as part of the 250th celebrations.
I’ll be marching in my township’s parade with my Scout Troop.
After which, I’ll need to head home and pack up a bunch of gear for the Troop’s Summer Camp which starts on the 5th. Busy day!
Probably working my tail off, sweating in a
kitchen.
Somebody has to work, to feed all y’all.
We will most likely stay home and avoid the crowds. I would suspect that there won’t be any fireworks, since it’s been extremely dry. That’s OK w/me - they make the dog crazy.
