Nah, they’re thinking of Kobal2 - I’m not French, or even French Canadian. (Although they may have conflated me and Kobal…that is an OK description of Tedd, but not close to how I’d describe Kobal’s avatar, which looks more like a goblin.)

Yosemite Sam because I look like a 6’3 version of him because of my bright red/orange hair and long, droopy mustache. I have 2 tats of him, one on each arm.
As a very young boy my Ma nicknamed me “Sam”. She referred to me as Sam more often than as Pete.
Mine is Vinnie Dakota, a character from “Milo Murphy’s Law,” a cartoon from the creators of “Phineas and Ferb.” He and his partner, Balthazar Cavendish, are a pair of time travelers tasked with protecting pistachio nuts. Cavendish once called him a “doltish snackhound,” which I thought was funny, so he goes with my custom title.

It is a fancy version of Nicodemus, the aged leader of the rats of NIMH, based on the movie, The Secret of NIMH.

It seemed fitting for the username but I do like the character.
Yeah, frankly I find it the craziest thing ever. For those curious it belongs to a “big jumper” bug and most of them need some gizmo to get around the speed of electricity to coordinate their jump muscles. This was the first organic gear found to fit that problem.
So am I (it’s the reason for my username; on the information superhighway, I’m the one with the “Caution! Slow Moving Vehicle” sign). So in the thread when TPTB announced that we could make avatars, I bitched that I couldn’t figure out how to download and create one.
That was all it took to get a couple of Dopers to very kindly help me out. I want to say it was Elendil’s Heir, I believe, who created my avatar and got me set up. In any case, if you want one, there are Dopers here who can and probably will hook you up.
That’s awesome! I became a fan when I saw them on Midnight Special, and the first album I bought by them was Foxtrot. I was lucky enough to see the band live with Peter Gabriel, twice (the Selling England By the Pound tour and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway tour).
My avatar is two Happy Rhodes album covers, The Keep and Ecto (the monster, painted by her). It was part of a gif I made years ago of one cover morphing into another.
