What bands have you seen more than once?

Let’s see here…

Grateful Dead (more times than I can count)
Bruce Springsteen ( I dunno…20 maybe)
Jimmy Buffett ( another I dunno…20?)
Neil Young (5)
Judy Collins (3)
Elton John (3)
Fleetwood Mac and/or Stevie Nicks (5)
Jethro Tull

plus some I’m not remembering right now.

Blotto – 4-5 times (They were on MTV, so they’re not just a local band).
Allman Brothers Band – 4 times (twice with Duane).
J. Geils Band – twice (once with the Allman Brothers)
Loudon Wainwright III – twice (30 years apart)
Livingston Taylor – twice (also 30 years apart)
Otis Taylor - twice (no relation)

I plan to see the Roches later this summer, so I will have seen 2/3rds of them twice.

I first read this as “not a fucking band member.”

I guess it works either way, doesn’t it?

Peter Frampton (2)
Neil Diamond (2)
Bachman-Turner Overdrive (2)
Elton John (2)
Beach Boys (2)

Barenaked Ladies - 2 (1997, 2001)

**The Tragically Hip ** - 8 (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2007)

Hall & Oates - 2 (1982, 1984, would also have been last Saturday, if I hadn’t hurt my back!)

Aimee Mann - 4x
Wilco - 3x
Richard Thompson - 3x
Erin McKeown - 3x
Barenaked Ladies - 4x
Los Lobos - 4x
The Neville Brothers - 2x
Dr. John - 4x
Buckwheat Zydeco - 2x
CSN (and maybe Y) - 2x
Levon Helm - 2x
Sarah Harmer - 2x
The Subdudes - 2x

I’m probably forgetting some, though. As said up-thread, festivals can really improve your multiple list.

The Grateful Dead +/- 85
Phish about 8
Leftover Salmon +20
String Cheese 5 or so
Willie Nelson 5 or so
RatDog +20
Rolling Stones 3
Bruce Hornsby +5
Bob Dylan +10
los Lobos 5 or so
Jakes Leg 150++ (local Dead cover band for past 30 yrs)
many others but these are the big ticket items…

Ramones (5?)

The Who (2)

Bon jovi (3) (was friends with one of the members sister)

The Bullys (They’re not famous yet, but they should be

Aerosmith (3)

Guns N Roses (2)

Van Halen (one Roth show, one Sammy)

Tull - 8 or 10. I think. '88 to '93 are still kind of vague.
Nazareth - 4 (the fifth time they didn’t play, as Darrel Sweet was in the process of dying from a heart attack) First time I was 13, last I was 31.
Seger - 2
Might have seen Ozzy a couple times.

Peter Gabriel (3)
They Might Be Giants (3? 4?)
Echolyn (Philly-area 90s prog band - 2)
The Musical Box (2)
The Blind Boys of Alabama (2 … just saw them last week!)

Let’s see if I can remember them all:
Opeth - 7
Nevermore - 4 or 5
Amorphis - 2
Symphony X - 2
Into Eternity - 3
Evergrey - 2
Lacuna Coil - 4
In Flames - 2
Moonspell - 2
God Forbid - 2
Shadows Fall - 2

Eh, my total list is much much longer (hey, many of the bands I like, if they DO tour, only tour the US every several years).

There’s a whole bunch I’ve seen at festivals and I can’t remember most of them, but:
Sev (eh…) - 2
PM5K (double eh…) - 2
…don’t remember any more (probably because I didn’t like most of them), but I know there were plenty more.

How about bands I will be seeing for the second time in the next few months (Therion and Katatonia), do they count?

Do local bands count? Cause I wasn’t going to see them–most of them were good though–but if so:
Brave - 4
Odin’s Court - 2
Division - 3
Todesbonden - 2
Tapping the Vein - 2

Hmm, that’s tough. Not too many that anyone would have heard of but:

Dave Matthews - Probably 20 times, they used to play regular Tue night gigs in Charlottesville VA
Bella Morte - 10 times or more
Navel - 3 or 4 times

I’ve only been to about 10 concerts in my lifetime, but three of them were Jimmie Dale Gilmore, with and without the Flatlanders.

Peter Hammill/Van der Graaf Generator - 12 (probably)
Mark Eitzel/American Music Club - 10 (probably)
Pere Ubu/David Thomas - 7 (I think)
Michelle Shocked - 5
Faust - 4
Mutton Birds - 3
Gil Scott Heron - 3
Barclay James Harvest - 2
Hall & Oates - 2
Dr. John - 2
Les Negreses Verte - 2
Culture - 2
Sly & Robbie - 2
Kinks/Ray Davies - 2
King Crimson/Robert Fripp - 2
Porcupine Tree - 2

I’m sure I’ve missed some…

ARRRRHHH!! A Larry Fan! w00t!

Def Leppard. I’m up to 20 shows as of the one I went to this weekend, and am going to see them in Canada and Michigan next week. I wouldn’t be going if I hadn’t been invited to a friend’s house and the concert tix were an early Xmas present. I was too young to see them on their tour for PYROMANIA and was sick the night they came thru WV on the HYSTERIA tour, so I’m making up for that now.

In a perfect life I’d have Biffy’s list.

There are a few more than this, mostly various Lollapalooza/Woodstock 94 artists, but these are the big ones:

Ramones (20+)
Tom Jones (10+)
Mighty Mighty Bosstones (10+)
Duran Duran (5)
Metallica (2)
Rolling Stones (2)
Son Volt (2)
Grateful Dead (2, though I went to 5+ shows, I didn’t always actually go inside the arena.)

Depeche Mode (about 8 times - I usually don’t go more than once a tour but I have to at least see them once a tour)

The rest of these are only 2-4 times each providing I’m remembering correctly, I’m sure there are a couple others I forgot.
