I saw 2 cars in a garage. Didn’t see any more than the back. 1 was a lime green Chevy, badged XLV. I assume it is a limited edition Camaro convertible.
The other, I have no idea. The rear seemed perfectly rectangular, and perfectly vertical. No curves, bulges, or badges. It was dull silver - I’m guessing stainless. On the rectangular rear end, there were 4 smaller rectangles. On the outside, were 2 rectangular light clusters, each with 4 horizontal rows of lights. In between those 2 light cluster rectangles, were 2 larger black rectangles which almost met at the centerline.
The car was a vert and VERY low. The top of the rear end was about the height of the top of the Camaro’s rear bumper. It had a HUGE wing which extended slightly over the back and (I think) was wider than the rear end. From the sides, the side of the wing was a long silver colored triangle.
That’s all I’ve got. Any ideas? Might be a kit. I did not notice a plate, so it could be a racer.
But the rear end really struck me as a big flat sheet of stainless. The light clusters were almost square I’d guess 6"wide by 8" tall, w/ 4X1" horizontal lenses.
Inside of those, were 2 larger squares/rectangles - maybe 12"x14". I’m really guessing at the dimensions. Te most distinctive thing was that the rear seemed perfectly flat and vertical.
And on top of the flat vertical rear end was no roofline or rear window - only this huge angular wing. The lack of curves really makes me think it is something homemade.
Yeah, that’s curious. I’m not really familiar w/ Camaros, but I can’t imagine what else it woulda been. Definitely a Chevy. Not familiar w/ their tailights since the 70s!) Rear plate said something like “V CHEV 8”. Left side of the rear deck had a black with red outlined XLV. When I googled the Superbowl connection, I assumed it was some sort of special promo model.
This was in a garage down the street. The guy is a dick. Maybe I’ll have to just ask him, but I imagine he’ll tell me to mind my own business. Someone else in the neighborhood told me they had “2 very valuable cars” in their garage that they were selling for a relative" … Piqued my curiosity, and when I saw the garage door open the other day…
Just watched Ford v Ferrari. As I recalled the car I saw, the large rectangles on the back of the car resembled the Ford GT40. But the rest didn’t match.
Since you mentioned the GT40 you made me think of the De Tomaso Pantera, which was also a collaboration with Ford and has a similar shape. Although it doesn’t quite match your description either. Looking at some pictures it appears that the taillights changed a bit over the years and some of them look kind of like what you describe, but all the ones I’ve seen have a single rectangle in the middle of the rear rather than the two you described.
