What car would you want to drive for one year?

That includes the price of gas and insurance. You get to drive this as your main vehicle for one year.
For me, it would be a Maserati Grecale Trofeo. I rode in one once ant fell in love.
What is your choice?

The wife would probably pick either a new Rolls sedan or an old touring car like a Pierce-Arrow or other of the same ilk. I would prefer a 1938 Talbot-Lago Coupe.

Ferrari GTO. Duh!

For me it would be the Tesla Model S Plaid, which is the most expensive consumer sedan in the US. I’m not a big fan of Elan Musk, but I certainly like the looks of the cars he makes.

The Citroën SM: Misunderstood yet Marvellous - Revivaler

If it’s the only car I get to drive. It would be what I have Toyota 4Runner. I bought it because it works for me. I only drive about 20 miles a week. Mostly to hardware stores and lumber yards.

Now, if it’s a second car for a year - '57 Chevy Bell air.

A new class B RV for a year of road trips. I certainly wouldn’t buy one due to it being a huge depreciating asset, and the probable maintenance headache it would be after one year, but it would be fun to have one for a year.

My heart says a '55-'57 Chevy Nomad, or a 1960s Volkswagen Beetle. Those two have been among my favorite cars since I got Hot Wheels of them both when I was 5 years old. But, I recognize that, unless I got one that has been modified with some more modern safety and comfort features, neither would be well-suited for the amount of driving I do (including a lot of 200 - 300 mile trips).

K.I.T.T. From Knight Rider.

After the “Super Pursuit Mode” modifications in season 3, of course. It’ll be faster that way.

I loved my '89 4Runner, it was the best camping/road trip vehicle ever. 4WD, V6, 5-speed, moon roof, a real tailgate, it was fantastic.

But now I think I’d prefer a bit more luxury, so I’ll go with an Winnebago Revel 44E.

67-69 Supersport Camaro.

My Dad had a ‘75 Impala; it was a cabin cruiser on wheels. Fit a family of six comfortably with none of that “He’s touching me” shit. The trunk could hold a full-grown ox along with four suitcases. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Porsche panamera let’s go!

Land Rover defender- great vehicle, bad reliability, but for one year? hell yeah!

Good choice, I had a friend who had a '67 RS/SS 350. Originally it had a PowerGlide that we swapped out for a THM350. We had the engine putting out about 350hp. That car flew. Put your foot in it for more than a few seconds, and you’d be doing around 140 in no time.

I’d think I’d like a Caterham 7 CSR Superlight. 260hp in a car that weighs 1,213 lbs. Yes, pretty please.

Audi RS6 Avant

It’s a station wagon but soooo much more. If you watch reviews of the car the reviewers gush about it. Everything is excellent. More, it is a stealth performer. Everyone sees a station wagon but it is a station wagon that can do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. I’d love to roll up next to some kid in his Dodge Charger and blow his doors off. It also has rear-wheel steering so it handles crazy well (most steering is, of course, the front wheels but the rear-wheels can turn a bit to making handling excellent for such a heavy car). It’s not sports car level handling but still better than one would ever guess.

It has the people and cargo capacity of an SUV too. And still does the above.

Although, since it is a $150,000+ car, insurance would be expensive.

I’m assuming from the OP that gas and insurance are covered.

I have no use for high-powered sports cars that would prefer to be airplanes if only they had wings. If I could drive something interesting for a year at no cost to me, I think a 1960s era Rolls-Royce convertible would be interesting, back before the design got ugly …

And after the year was up, I’d happily go back to my Toyota Camry!

Assume? It is right there in the very first sentence.

Just clarifying, since the immediately preceding post said:
