What comic-book movie adaptations would you like to see?

Oh great…now I have to clean the drool out of my keyboard.

When, oh when, are they gonna make a movie/HBO miniseries of Why I Hate Saturn? It’s got everything – comedy, irony, chicks with green hair, people discussing relationships, a rocket launcher…

Hastur:

Sorry, didn’t mean to be particularly offensive. It was just a take-off on the fact that his ashes had, in fact, been mixed into the printing ink for the Squadron Supreme trade paperback.

I loved Gruenwald’s work, especially Squadron Supreme and Captain America. Also, wasn’t he responsible for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe? That thing was great…no other “comic universe encyclopedia” ever equaled it.

You Preacher fans may be able to rejoice. Just got this off the r.a.c.m. newsgroup:

I make no claims to the accuracy of this information, just something I saw and thought I’d pass on.

An epic movie adaption of DC comics “Kingdom Come”.
Let the Wachowski Brothers (The Matrix) bring it to life.

There’s just something about the idea os Superman and
Captain Marvel beating the shit out of each other that
appeals to me.

The best part about this movie would be that you’d pay ten bucks to see the movie and then find out that most of the information needed to enjoy it was posted on newsgroups! Oh the hilarity!

Plastic Man
The Flash (With some cool first person point of view shots)
Martian Manhunter

Frank Miller’s Ronin, as an animated movie.

I also agree with doing The Dark Knight Returns and Green Lantern.

You know, of course, that they did a lmited TV series based on thhis shortly after the first Tim Burton Batman movie came out, right?

It was no half-hearted attempt. The got a good muscle suit, pretty decent effects, and Danny Elfman wrote the music. It was, if anything, [too Batman -inspired. The Flash isn’t the Dark Knight, and there was no reason for Central City to be so dark and brooding. But generally a good effort.

Of course, they could do so much better with CGI now…

Well, I would love to see some the brilliant Dan Clowes’s work turned into a movie. Of course there is no way in a million years anything that uncommercial would ever…

Oh wait… .
Well there’s still no way anything that uncommerial plays near me, so while I’m waiting for “Ghost World” to come out on video, I would like them to film “Orgy Bound” and “Pussey”.

Movies:

Rising Stars
Powers

Mini-Series:

The Watchmen

Ongoing Show (Like Outer Limits):

Astro City
Marvels

ummmm, how about “ironwood”, for that matter. triple x rated d&d. man, that’s scary!!

Grumble…not unless he fixes the way the story ends…

Fenris, who loved Ironwood, but hated the ending.

no no no… tim roth playing cassidy. ignore his performance in planet of the apes, he has done some really interesting things aside from that. he would be too perfect.

cerebus, but it would be one really looooong movie.

frank miller’s sin city. love that book!!!

strangers in paradise (yes, it would be a chick flick, but they don’t make many comic book adaptations for us gals)

i second the kingdom come and the dark knight returns votes (or third them, or fourth them, or whatever)

dirty plotte, but you’d have to get somebody like gilliam to direct it. and it would also be nc-17.

bone, but it would have to be cgi.
