What did you buy at Steam Summer Sale 2017?

I picked up two VR games. Battlezone and Space Pirate Trainer. I’m not sure if I’ll end up picking up anything else or not. I’m not seeing much on my wishlist that is at a price where it seems worth it. Also, much of the games on my wishlist are Early Access and I’m avoiding buying Early Access games these days. I keep them there so I can keep track of them. In the case of Space Pirate Trainer from what I’ve read is that even in its current state it is worth the price. Deadcells is another game I’m considering because the chatter on it is that it is amazing.

So what did you get?

I’m expecting to get Nier and Tales of Berseria, but I’ll wait until the weekend to see if either is a better deal at a competing sale.

Nothing yet. Steam deals haven’t been nearly as good the last few years as they have been, and I’ve still got a huge backlog of games to go through. I suspect most of the games that look like good deals will still be good deals next winter/summer.

That said, the ones I’m considering are Shadow of Mordor (hard to argue with $4 price), Final Fantasy 13, and XCOM2. Disappointed none of the Civ 6 DLC is on sale.

It’s a couple bucks cheaper at Bundle Stars. Use coupon code Red5 for another 5% off.

IsThereAnyDeal.com has only shown me two games from my wishlist being on sale: Hamlet and the Stanley Parable.

My entire wishlist went on sale, so I bought that :). I guess I didn’t need that $180 anyway.

Downloading as we speak the most recent Telltale Walking Dead game, their Guardians of the Galaxy game and Balder’s Gate Enhanced edition. All three for about $35.

ETA: I got an e-mail informing me that 27 games on my Wish List were on sale and I said to myself, “The Summer Sale is here!”

I just got Abzu, Darkest Dungeon, and Samarost, for about $25. I’m eyeing Just Cause 3.

XCom 2 is one of the best games I’ve ever played, Magnusblitz. So ridiculously fun.

I bought a shit ton of new games during the January Steam sale, and never played a damned one.

You think I’d learn.

Shadow of Mordor is awesome. It is in my top 10 for # of played hours. So is XCOM 2. So I guess I would recommended those.

You’re my hero!

Also, thanks Jophiel for the tip on Dead Cells. Isthereanydeal.com sent me, like 15 emails today, so I didn’t look through them.

I couldn’t pass up Shadows of Mordor for $3.99. I also went ahead and invested $23.99 in Dying Light.

Nothing

Cash flow here is a little bit low. I have been trying to work through at least some of my backlog. Sometimes I have a hard time remembering things about games I’ve actually played, especially games with similar names. But I finally figured out that you can make your own Steam library names, and organize your games however you want to.

So I made categories to help me organize my games: Arcade, RPG, Twin Stick, etc. Also made a category called “Horrible Games”, which is up to about 17 or 18 games so far.

Does anyone know of a way I can permanently delete games from Steam? Not just from my Installed Games, but make them not even show up in my library at all.

You can do it through the support menu.

Even as someone who owns Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble, I’m not sure why you would want to do that.

[Pet Peeve Alert]Unless one is a professional gamer and purchasing a game that might make that gamer some money sometime in the future, one does not invest in games. One purchases them.

Jophiel’s solution is good if you want to delete them permanently. If you just want them to not show up in your library, you can add the game to the hidden category through the same menu you set categories from. Right click the game, select “set categories” and click the “Hide this game in my library” box, and you won’t see the game under any category except the hidden one.

That’s totally not true. I’ve bought a number of dollar bundles solely to farm them for Steam trading cards, and also made a profit doing so. So far this year I have about €110 in earnings on Steam, but I blew most of it on a Steam link and controller.

I’m not huge on platformers, but I just watched the promo video for Deadcells, and it looks pretty freakin’ awesome.

Nothing yet. I don’t get heavily into the trading card game, but generally sell off excess ones I get during sales and pick up something cheap at the end (possibly that Convoy game that was recommended to me a few threads ago). The only two I was really watching on my wishlist were

Slime Rancher: Not quite enough of a discount to pull the trigger on an Early Access game, cute as it is.

Tyranny: Discount is decent, but man, I kickstarted Pillars of Eternity and still haven’t gotten past the first town, and I’m not sure why it hasn’t grabbed me. So the cost is still a bit high for me to buy when I’m not sure.
