A tank of gas. At my location, it was 3.09 per gallon, the lowest I’ve seen it in a long, long time. I also bought a Mega Millions ticket. I can dream, can’t I?
Meijer (local grocery chain) pickup, so too much stuff to list. Mostly in preparation for Christmas day dinner, plus some Black Box Pinot Noir since it was mentioned in another thread.
Oh! I bought a motherboard on Newegg! I haven’t built a PC since 2010, and figuring out all of the freaking sockets and chipsets and shit has been a pain in the ass, but I finally settled on something. It won’t arrive until the end of the month, so GenX me has a hard time saying that I bought it today, when really, I only paid for it today.
Breakfast out for one, a visit to the doctor, a coffeemaker at Target (mine died this morning; baa-aad timing), lunch out for one, a round of golf, dinner out for two.
$280 for groceries for family Christmas Eve dinner.
I won’t list all of it but the big ones were a lamb shoulder and alcohol (wine and beer). Also splurged for some fancy cheese for a nice cheese plate. Part of the problem was I shopped at Whole Paycheck (aka Whole Foods).
It’s for eight people so not so bad considering it is several hours of food and drink (apps, dinner with sides, dessert). Still…oof…
You can’t just say that without telling us what they were!
Since that’s what I’ve been buying for myself to try new scotches and bourbons, I decided they’d be the best stocking stuffers.
Did you know you can buy a 50 ml “The” Macallen 12 yr? Only ten bucks!
Got mom some gins (Aviator and Hendrick’s), the wife some liqueurs (Amaretto and Irish Creams), others get bourbons in cute bottles that echo the grown-up versions (Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek Rye and Willett Pot Still). I’m stuffing my own stocking with guilty pleasures… Cap’n Morgan, a local coffee liqueur, and RumChata.
Hmmm. A Pepsi for the trip to Denver. And then dinner for my Wife and I at a nice restaurant. Mushroom cheeseburger, a Ruben for me. We had three drinks and split one. $83 without a tip. So that was $100. I think that’s it for the day.
Yesterday I took my annual trip to Harrods to buy Christmas food. A mallard for Christmas day, a pork joint for Boxing day, two different types of pork pies for lunches, and a Christmas pudding.
