Does anyone remember shampoo and rinse called “Condition”? God that smelled wonderful. I’m not sure how to even Google it, since “condition” just pulls up search results for regular conditioner.
Taco flavored Doritos
Ones I miss at least once a week:
New Coke
Kasdenol - a powdered mouthwash that was chlorine based
bench front seats and wing windows in cars
There are others like Gorilla Snot (which may still be made but I haven’t found any for a long time) that I miss when I need them but those are basically the Big Three
Ben & Jerry’s Pineapple Passion Fruit Frozen Greek Yogurt.
Ben & Jerry’s White Russian flavor.
Hardee’s fried chicken.
O’Grady’s Au Gratin potato chips.
These little chocolate soft caramels from Brach’s called “Fudgies.”
Butternut hot chocolate powder mix.
(Apparently I’m hungry - need to go grab some dinner)
My old Honda Civic CRX - a 2-seater that could hold an amazing amount of stuff. It sipped gasoline by the droplet and could turn on a dime. Mine was named “Stubby.” I still miss that car.
Campbell’s tomato soup that didn’t have potassium chloride in it. When they tried to save us from the evils of sodium, they ruined tomato soup forever.
Diet Coke with Splenda in a 20 oz bottle.
And those Vick’s Shower Soothers, I think they were called. They were hockey pucks you tossed in the shower, and they effervesced menthol vapors. They were lovely as long as you didn’t step on them.
LifeSavers CremeSavers soft candy. The chocolate and caramel ones were like crack. I could eat a whole bag of them at a sitting.
I don’t even think they make the hard candy version anymore, but the soft ones were the best.
Buitoni Toast-r-Pizzas.
Not the same as hot pockets, they were small pita shaped pockets of goodness that you toasted for a inferno like exterior and lukewarm cheap cheesy filling. They were good, but they were not Pizza…much the same as I crave, at times, Chef Boyardee (well, i did, but the flavor is way off!) although I routinely make my own Spaghetti and Meatballs from scratch…and i mean scratch, fresh pasta and all… But there was something about those two items!!
Something called a “Frosted” I think made by Nestle…it was a milky vanilla or chocolate thickish shake in a can…not fortified and not breakfast drink.
Pudding in a can…kinda weird metallic taste to it, but it was cool…oh and those little boxes of cereal that you could put milk into and eat right from the box…are those still around?
Those were GREAT.
You can make them, but I don’t think they work as well.
Lime candy- gone are lime Pixie Stix, Life Savers, Skittles, SweeTarts.
Green Giant used to make frozen Brussels sprouts in cheese sauce. Man I loved those things.
I second the Planter’s cheese balls. No other cheese balls are the same.
Biscuit breakfast sandwiches from McDonald’s. Way better than egg mcmuffins or the mcgriddles.
Can’t get them anymore, at least not in Canada.
Another vote for Hydrox cookies.
I think you can still get that one.
??
I saw those in Wal-Mart yesterday. Did they change the recipe or something?
I have ranted elsewhere about them discontinuing Tacos at Midnight flavor.
I also miss Freakies cereal, though I’m sure I wouldn’t love it as much now even if they brought it back with exactly the same formula.
Chocolate orange candy’s
Bushes canned green beans
I sometimes think the people at the grocery check on what I buy and get rid of it quick
Projammer, yes they changed the recipe. If my tastebuds aren’t mistaken, they’re trying to foist the original Nacho flavored Doritos on us in bags that say “Taco.” I’d picked up some Mexican flavored corn chips in Germany that were the exact taste of Taco Doritos of the 70’s. The first few chips took me back to the time of bright colors and double-knit polyester.
I miss Eagle Snacks, all varieties. High quality crisp and flavorful snacks. Not too much salt, not to much anything. All around yum.
Bubble Yum Bubble Gum, bubble gum flavor. It amped up the standard bubble gum mystery flavor to a heavenly sweet ambrosia.
Burt’s Bees used to have a “Medicated, with Clove Oil” lip balm that was easily the best lip balm I’ve ever come across. Discontinued a few years ago. Still fairly easy to find online, if you don’t mind paying $10+ per tube
Parfums de Couer Gummy Bear Juicie body spray.
SunSilk hair products, specifically the green/curly line. The mousse was phenomenal. Maybe I wouldn’t straighten my hair every damn day if I could still find a curl enhancing product that worked as well as SunSilk (and it was cheap too!)
