What discontinued items do you miss?

That stuff was the best! I still have one tube stashed away, I’m not going to pay $10 a tube either. Burt’s Bees regular lip balm isn’t bad but it’s nowhere near the medicated stuff.

Ferrari GTO.

The old-fashioned, truly dangerous chemistry sets. My father made me use it in the basement where there was a floor drain so he could hose me down it in case of a catastrophic misstep.

That’s what I came here to mention.

Hershey’s Kissables. They were better than M&Ms.

The Angus Burgers at McDonald’s.

I know there are others but I am hungry right now and that is where my brain went.

This. I used to use a bottle of this stuff in my chili recipe, but I haven’t seen it in ages.

Zatarain’s Chicken Creole Rice Mix. According to their web site they still make it, but it’s been several years since I’ve seen it in stores. It used to be my go-to quick’n’easy meal for using up leftover chicken breasts.

Beaver’s Hawaiian Mustard. I wasn’t been able to find this for years in the store, then I googled it this week and the company’s making it again! (online order only)

There was this amazing dry hot wings mix that you sprinkled on chicken wings and broiled them. It disappeared in the 90s. I think it was McCormick. It was easy to make and tasted great.

As a woman I’d like to say that you know you’re growing old when they discontinue your favorite bra.

As soon as I have a favorite bra they discontinue it.

I found some jeans that fit and bought three pair. Now I feel like I should buy six more as they are doubtless about to be discontinued.

Coty Airspun loose powder in the shade “Rachel.” I wore it for a couple of decades. The color is perfect, and I can remember the name, because it’s my own given name. “Surely,” says I, “they’ll never discontinue this. It was one of the first (maybe the very first?) color of face powder the company ever made. It’s been around for nearly a century. Surely, Self, no one would fuck that up.”

Someone fucked it up. The current colors aren’t quite right - too pink, too sallow, too something. Not perfect any more.

Also, mentioned earlier, Sunshine Biscuit Company’s Lemon Coolers. (The supposed clone that came out a year or two ago isn’t the same. Lemon extract - yuck!) Also, Lemon Thins - I think those were made by Nabisco?

Trader Joe’s has some thinlemon cookies (scroll down) drizzled with chocolate which are almost as good as the Sunshine Lemon Coolers. Unless you think chocolate is a bad thing. (I don’t)

Betty Crocker used to make a Tuna Pot Pie tuna helper. Was great with tuna or chicken.

I really miss Dr Pepper with real sugar. Every once in an eon I can find DP Throwback and I’ll buy most of it.

Thanks for the recommendation - not a big chocolate fan, though, and the nearest Trader Joe’s is more than 100 miles from me, so…

Cornquistos. You could buy them in 7-11 or at your local supermarket.
They were about a 1/2 inch long tube shaped corn chip with some sort of cheese filling with Dorito/Nacho flavoring, only much, much more intense. A small packet could take away ALL of my food cravings (no joke intended).
Jolly Rancher sticks.
Of course, the 7 Up candy bar.
Adams sour gum.

Wendy’s made-to-order breakfast sandwiches. In the 1980’s you could get a fried egg sandwich on toasted wheat bread with a slice of cheese and tomato from the drive up.

“Magic markers” that didn’t dry out in three months just sitting capped in a drawer. The same with “Flair” pens.

Venus pencil color-by-number coloring sets. My kids would probably love them like my sisters and I did.

Wacky Wafers!

Estee Lauder - Double Matte Foundation, Sparkling Clean cleanser and toner, Clear Difference Moisturizer. Estee Lauder has broken my heart! I’ve found nothing better for oily, shiny skin and have used these for 15 years! They are all gone now. And EL tries to tell me that their “new” cleanser and toner (which is for ALL skin types!) is just wonderful despite no longer targeting different skin types. It’s one-size-fits-all now.
I can handle a lipstick shade or mascara being discontinued - but my entire skin care line? Really? Ugh. So disappointing. I still haven’t found decent substitutes. :frowning:

I found Kraft Fudgies in the store last month and was so excited I ate the whole (small) bag before I even got home.
Around the same time at the same store I found Kemp’s pudding pops, which are similar enough to Jell-O for me. I was thrilled to see these, too, and even called the hubby to tell him. He was underwhelmed, since he isn’t the one who spent 20 years missing them.
I have been buying cheese balls from CVS, their store brand, for $1 a bag when I have cravings. They are good but don’t have the weird buttery thing Planters had. If those ever come back I don’t even know what I would do with myself!

Gorilla Snot (assuming you’re talking about the hair gel) is more commonly sold around here as “Moco de Gorila” in Hispanic oriented markets.

Super-common there though.

The thing I miss isn’t food either… it’s Dawn Power Dissolver. It was like a sort of pre-treater for dishes- either hand-wash or for the dishwasher. It worked pretty well, and saved quite a few bouts of hand-washing in its day. Plus it did a great job of getting burned-on stuff off of pots/pans. It seemed to be a less intense version of oven cleaner in a pump spray bottle from what I can tell.

It’s still listed on the Dawn site, but I haven’t seen it in stores in months, and while Amazon has it, it’s priced absurdly- like $25 a bottle, when it was like $5 before.

Colvan Chips

KFC Bean Salad

Pollywaffles

Toc Cordials Cola. Can’t remember the specific name but I used to inhale that stuff when I was a kid.

We have five Hardee’s in my area. Only the one closest to the racetrack still has fried chicken.

Unsweetened Peanut Butter. Dunno what you can get, but around here when the shops reduced their product lines to increase profits, unsweatened PB was one of the things to go. Can still get “plain” PB (that separates into oil and solids), but I used to have a choice of unsweetened, unsalted, normal (suger, salt, peanuts, emulsifier), and original/organic/plain.

Also, any number of bakery items that didn’t make the cut at local bakers.
