During the morning constitutional, I swear it felt like I’d swallowed a fish whole and was trying to expel its very spiny vertebrae. Ow! Ow! It was actually quite alarming. Nothing else indicates suggests I need Prepration H or anything though, I think my balloon knot is just tender from some seriously spicey food over the weekend (I don’t manage capsicum very well at all).
But I was wondering what hemorrhoids are like in comparisson.
For me, a hemorrhoid felt like I had a marble under the skin of the bung-hole opening. (Mine was slightly external, right on the ‘curve’ from hole to ‘rim’)
It was painful all the time, but hurt most when shifting position, or attempting to use said orifice.
I treated it with witch-hazel, and a little Prep-H. It’s gone now, and hasn’t come back, but as I understand it, I’m now more prone to getting another in the same spot. My Dr. said my treatment was fine, and had no more suggestions, unless it got worse or didn’t go away on it’s own.
It appeared after a week traveling, eating lousy food, followed up by a weekend camping trip where I had to do the “Asian Squat” to expel solid wastes (which weren’t very solid that weekend).
YMMV.
As for your feeling, it sounds more like a very dry/hard shit. No lubrication from the surface of the shit to help it come out smoothly. Next time, don’t swallow that cellphone.
Erm… That sounds about right actually. I just got back from a short (and very cold) camping trip. Aforemetioned food gave me a case of looser-than-normal exports, but then suddenly I had one of those “I have GOT to start chewing my food better!” moments. Ow!
It’s only very mildly uncomfortable right now, but at first I did sort of have that “marble in my butt” feeling. I guess I should go get some Prep-H and if anything changes I’ll get me hence to yon MD to be sure there’s nothing else happening.
Nobody has mentioned the itching part yet? I have had 2 procedured for 'roids, the first was for one that ripped open and bled profusely, the second was for a dangler that was making life miserable. Besides the obvious pain when pooping, especially if the turds were real stiff, the bleeding and never clean feeling and the intense itching that would drive a normal person crazy, hemorrhoids are a piece of cake.
Is the itching standard for all hemorrhoids or ust jthe external ones? Re-wording the question: Is it just the 'roid that itches or des it cause surrounding tissues to also be inflamed and itch/burn?
It is important that you do not ignore the formation of hemorrhoids. That you have developed them are indicative of the fact that given the right conditions they will grow again. One of the main reasons for the development of these things is constipation or other problems with passing bowels that cause you to strain somewhat.
If you have developed hemorrhoids, I would suggest that it is time you take a look at your diet and lifestyle. If ignored they can become quite troublesome and can lead to complications that may eventually require surgery.
