If you have a copy of the poster for Endurance I’d be very interested.

This is a great resource.
Clearly, you have a moral responsibility to give us dopers a first crack at that collection.
So… Wayne’s World or Revenge of the Nerds?
Fandango?
Jeremiah Johnson?
Bullitt?
Any of Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns?
The Pirate Movie, maybe? Or Transformers: the Movie?
I’ll buy 'em off ya.
You might also want to see if there are auction houses specifically for movie memorabilia, and if they can help. They might be able to reach an audience of high-paying fanatics even better than eBay can.
Oh, and if there’s a Japanese or European poster for Transformers: The Movie, give me a buzz. Not the American one, though, since the art looks like ass on that.
If you want to get rid of them all at once, you could try taking them to a collector’s store (think Comic Book Guy but for movies), though they might try ripping you off. If you go with someone experienced in selling collectibles you could probably get a good price.
Oh, and if you have posters for Blade Runner, 12 Monkeys, or Donnie Darko, let’s talk.
If you have Revenge of the Jedi poster, I’ll pay shipping costs. It is not like it is worth anything
There are comic book price guides, is there anything similar for movie posters?
Brian
Count me in as someone who’d like to see the list of what you’ve got.
You might be able to identify which version of a poster you have by comparing it to ones on other websites. Rick’s Movie Posters is one good resource, but there are several, including Ebay itself.
Do you have a digital camera? Your posters are more likely to sell if you can post a picture of your merchandise.
This looks like it could be a useful site:

Well it seems at least the majority of them are not the original movie posters but the video release posters instead (makes sense seeing they came from a video store.) So the sites provided, while fascinating, don’t show the posters we have. I don’t know if you all are still interested, but we’ll probably still try selling a few on ebay and see what happens. I can still give a list to those who are interested when it’s done.
Strange Brew? Waking Ned Devine? Hoosiers?
Count me as one of the interested ones.
I have dibs on Fargo.
If you have any Eastwood Sphagetti western, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pulp Fiction, or El Mariachi posters, could ya tell me?
Indian Jones posters don’t sound bad…which movie are the posters from?
I’d go for the Pretty in Pink one, myself.
If you go the eBay route, consider using Priority Mail and get your mailing supplies FOR FREE, delivered to your door, from the Postal Store. Priority/Express Mail dual-use mailing tubes, available under Business Products, come 10 to a bundle. The larger size is 38" long, big enough for most posters.
Okay, so the tubes are actually triangular and arrive flat, to be folded at time of use. This is a good thing. Imagine having to scrounge up and store enough cylinders for even a hundred posters.
I’m interested.
Hey thanks Peri!
Ok. What I’m going to do is go through them all as I get time and make a list. Anyone who wants to see it can e-mail me (in my profile) and I will send you one as soon as it’s done. This could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, I don’t know how quick it will go. Then it’s first come, first served. I’m not sure how to set up payments. I have a PayPal account, maybe that will work best? But I’m not sure how it works, I haven’t used it yet.
So if you send me an e-mail, put SDMB movie posters in the title or something so I know it’s not spam. I’ll send you a list when it’s ready. This plan is already cleared with the mods here, so it’s good to go.
I have a digital camera so I may be able to provide photos on request, but if I get tons of requests I may not be able to provide photos of all of them. I’ll include any defects, creases or tears in the description on the list. I also want to make sure everyone knows that these are not, in most cases, the original ‘movie’ posters, they are the video release, (or in some cases, Laserdisc! ahhh, memories) posters - so people know what they are getting. Likely these will all go for a couple bucks.
Thanks for all your advice and help!
Have I told you lately that I love you? Brilliant.
