I’m working at a movie theater and all, and free posters is one of the perks. I got a Hanibal poster the other day (the movie hasn’t even been made yet, and they’re sending the teaser posters out) and a Shaft poster today. The Hanibal one is way cool. It’s just a really creepy close-up of Hopkins’ face. And I’m sure there will be new ones when the movie actually comes out, so this one will be somewhat rare. And I might get my hands on a Coyote Ugly one soon (damn there are some fine chicks on that one!) I’m not going to have room on my walls for all these posters!
I was hoping someone else would tell you, but I guess I’ll have to. That’s not a chick, it’s Martin Lawrence dressed up as an old lady. But hey, to each his own.
I don’t know. I’ll have to find one of those cardboard tubes, that should be all. I’ll look into it. But I’ll try to get you one tomorrow, my next day working. I’ll let you know.
Babar, at one of the local theaters there’s a poster for The Perfect Storm. I say poster, but it’s huge. it’s about ten feet wide and five feet tall, and appears to be made out of a kind of plastic-coated canvas. It’s held to the wall by the metal grommetts punched into the corners.
It depicts the great image of the swordboat heaving up the side of a tremendous wave.
If you could get me that “poster,” I would bear your children. And I’m a man.
Babar let me start off this post by saying. You are not only a cool guy, but one of the best posters on the board. Your erudite posts often make me laugh and at the same time, think.
Oh, and by the way, if you see any Rocky and Bullwinkle posters that are cool, I will make it worth your while to send them my way.
pat
SHAFT!!! ARGH!!! If I had known there were offers of Shaft memoriabilia, I would have been on this thread like Monica on a…nevermind. But I would have arrived earlier.
Any chance you could scare up another one of those bad mother-SHUT YO’ MOUTH! posters over my way?
Alrighty, here’s the deal. I’m not going to promise anyone anything, but if you email me, I’ll see what I can do. The studios usually send about three posters (but I’ve only been working there since Friday), and everyone else who works there trys to ‘dib’ one for themselves. But being projectionist, I have an advantage. As soon as I can, I’ll go to the local post office-like store and stock up on those cardboard tubes and rubber bands. I may post what just came out in this or another thread, and you can email me if you’re interested. Does anyone know how much postage for something like that would be?
One more thing. Email me at Babar714@hotmail.com, not the addy listed here on the board, just for clarity’s sake on my part. I’ll check it regularly. Good luck, everyone!
